In other news, Suicide Squad will be in cinemas next week.

It probably reflects badly on me but I don't even know who this fucker Bailey is.

Me either and he was 30m?

Anyway.

Cheers

Well before he was a Utd target there were rumours City were interested but they were quickly squashed by the club.

Before we got Mangala, Bailly was seen by the club as plan b if we couldn't get Mangala, with Mangala being seen as the superior defender of the two...

Anyone bothered that a player seen by us as a worse option than Mangala has chosen the rags over us...

Nope.

Who snubbed who?

Man City insider reveals inside track on Man United transfer move

ERIC BAILLY joined Manchester United after being snubbed by neighbours City.

The Ivory Coast international joined United this summer from Villarreal in a £30m deal that saw him become Jose Mourinho's first signing at Old Trafford.

Bailly claims he turned down City before choosing United and did so because he wanted to work for Mourinho.

But City have strongly denied the claims and hit back to insist the defender was offered to them but Etihad bosses rejected him.

It is understood City were first offered the chance to sign Bailly in January 2015 when Manuel Pellegrini was manager.

Bailly was offered to City again this summer, but new boss Pep Guardiola insisted he wasn't interested in the 22-year-old.

The centre back went on to join bitter-rivals United instead and is relishing the chance to win trophies under Mourinho.

A City source said: "We twice turned down the chance to sign him, once when he was offered to us in January 2015 as an Espanyol player, and second this summer when he was at Villarreal."

Gabriel Jesus - I'm absolutely fed up of reading that we've signed this cunt. It's been 'claimed' every day for about 2 months. Even Sociedad say he's arriving there on loan from us.

FFS someone announce it or fuck him off for good!

It sounding like it should be completed this week before the start of the Olympics. Brazil play their first match on Thursday.

Well thank fuck for that.

Maybe we are going to have another 5-in-one-day jamboree like under Sven?

So far, the media linked us with Sane, Stones, Marcelo Moreno and Gabriel Jesus.

We have 32 days to sign those 4. But will that be enough? Are those four really enough for us to win the league? It has been a strange summer so far when you look worldwide at what moves were between the clubs.

Moreno is being loaned to Deportivo.

But also Nolito, Zinchenko and Gundogen....so 6, not 4.

Yes, but those three also. But if we loan Jesus also, we have; Stones, Sane, Nolito, Zinchenko and Gundogan.

Isn't Gabriel Jesus only going to be out on loan until January after Palmeiras season is done?

Good point. Play him in goal, but what about crosses?

I reckon he'll be glad to see the back of those.

We need more in central midfield to win the league.

Sorry to hear this winds you up so much, but seems that's the way things are today. The media reports things in various ways to sell adverts, subscribers, papers, or get clickthroughs. We're not talking about hard journalism regarding serious matters, and the processes for transfers are often very clandestine, so it's hard to know what is really going on. If this kind of thing upsets you then maybe it's not worth it to pay attention to summer transfers because this is the norm now.

Transfers are already complicated, but some more than others. He's also not even going to play for us until January, so it's not like we need him to get into training with the team to start the season.

He is highly coveted by several big clubs, which surely played a role in the length of negotiations, but now you also have another major factor in that given his age and he is not an established international there may be some issues with getting a work permit as easily as if he was one.

We are also in the midst of a few other big transfers so that may also be affecting things

I'm FAR from worried about it not happening and quite excited about the prospect of having him in the team in January.
