So, nothing extravagant or odd today. Perhaps we'll see him wearing a pastel coloured short-sleeved shirt in Romania?

Kompany Sane and Gundogan will make a big difference plus a fit Tintin. These few matches before the international break need to be got through. Stoke away will be tough and next Tuesday can't be taken for granted.

Very satisfied with the win. Looks theres a fair bit of work to do. But we will get there.
The keeper situation needs sorting though.

Well done Sterling. Liked the look of Stones and can see why he was bought.
Aguero is still isolated and him and KDB still not fully fit. Couldn't understand why we are keeping Kolarov but thought he did ok. Maybe Pep thinks he has a role for him.
We are s bit toothless still but I'm encouraged by the shape. With a few changes in personnel I can see it working.
We were laboured but job done.

From what I seen there's not to far to go. We bossed the game but found it difficult against a packed defence (no change there) but we still forced the issue and put them under so much pressure they turned it in for us instead.
Gotta be happy, first game a win, especially over a bogey team and manager.

Agree with that. Get the results on the board while we gel as a team and get everyone up to full speed and fitness

Overall am pleased with that. Not a perfect performance but lots to be pleased about.
Nolito looks very promising and Sterling looks far more confident - was a constant threat. Aguero is looking sharp.
I liked seeing the fluidity of our formation. There were plenty of occasions where you'd see Kolarov, Sagna or Clichy in centre mid, or even up front. It's a work in progress but in a month or so you can see the benefits that will arise.
Sadly you can see why Pep didn't pick Hart today. Clearly Willy is not good enough but the intention is for the keeper and defenders is to retain possession and start attacks. As Hart can barely keep the ball on the pitch, he is likely to struggle in this system. I like Hart but can understand Pep's view.
Obviously we wasted plenty of chances and shouldn't have been level after our dominance. But we got the win on a day where both Leicester and Spurs struggled.
Lots to work on, but plenty of positives.

Who was the bloke with the red boots on next to Stones. I thought he was excellent today. Very pleased to have got over the line and it's clear KDB and one or two others were rusty. We were a bit toothless though and not many chances created by our football. Fern 1 dropping into the back 3 meant we missed him going forward. Plenty to work on but 3 points is a great start. It was good the players stayed out at the end to acknowledge us.

According to the BT Sport commentators we "got away with this one" as they willed Sunderland United on for the draw.
Not the finished article yet by any means but this team is going to shake the league up and will hopefully be firing on all cylinders come 10th September.

I think Dunne holistically influenced the OG.

Good man ;-)
Just a note to those who may have to listen to TalkSport for the game. Just back in the UK, I was still sorting TV/internet out right up until the game started and had to put the radio on to get the first 10. Obviousky had to go with what they said and their word was that the first goal was against the run of play and very lucky to have been given. My thoughts, after watching catch-up, was completely different.
Am I wrong?

It's hard to say it was against the run of play after only 4 minutes of the game! Both teams looked lively early on. I haven't seen a replay of the peno but it was right in front of me. I didn't doubt for a moment it would be given and I didn't notice any real protests.
