I think if he promises to run around a bit more and a bit faster off the ball he'll take the field in the cup this week. He then gets the chance to show he can ratchet up his activity for Pep's system and can play a part before the grand exit next year.

If he can't manage it he can be left to his own devices after Wednesday- and even hooked if he is negatively affecting the team on the night.

I really can't see the point of doing that. The guy doesn't have a future with us. If your going to rest players then it's the possible future squad members that should be given a chance not Yaya.
Yaya had a great past with us, but his legs are gone even if he did want to run for the team.
Pep doesn't strike me as the sentimental kind. He's ditched anyone else who he does not see as being able to help the team/club achieve what he is trying to bring to us.
His vision of how we achieve our goals involves a certain type of footballer.
The team most definitely comes first and that is long overdue with some of our stars.

Granted we didn't see the Kolarov transformation coming, but I don't see the same happening with Yaya.....and his agent is toxic. Bad for the club.
