In their eyes, he's already an iconic and inspiring captain, so it would make perfect sense to them and keep 'everyone', whomsoever they may be, completely happy.
The FA are a load of duffers and crackpots so, no matter how ridiculous this might sound, I wouldn't put this past them.
I reckon Carl would slap you for what you have written.

So the FA lurch from farce to farce..........
I was vocal in my support for him getting a go, but very disappointed with his lineup including Rooney, so reverted back to my England exile, big fat cunt was simply gonna be another stooge for the fa's money making department (though to be fair I wonder just how much his comments about Wembley allude to the extent that England manager's hands are tied due to the debt?)
Not quite sure where the FA go from here. Has Pellers got a job yet?

On that basis, ZC, I'd better shake the cobwebs off my old suit of armour.

Who in their right mind would want the job. If the press in your own country are basically "entrapping" the manager what's the fucking point. BFS didn't lie. He was very naive but his comments re Wembley are hardly ground breaking, indeed it's only what we all know. I feel a bit sorry for him it must be said. The FA themselves are hardly an organisation that has virtue, truth, honesty or fair play as its mantra.

I think the FA should dispense with the idea of having a manager and do something really 'retro-revolutionary' by going back to past practices which were in vogue before World War II, when the side was picked by a committee.
That way, all vested interests could have their individual say in this process and they could share the manager's salary out between themselves in true 'snouts in the trough style'.
Greed is really good.
