You obviously weren't paying attention.
This should be called the knee jerk forum.

It's quite a strange period, I'll give you that. It's as if Blues were expecting a 3-1/10-0 victory every week, not taking into account that there was a greater chance of us hitting the rocks due to the change of tempo. Something the majority said the Dippers woukd do under Klopp at the Dippers last season.
We are doing well if you just looked at the points alone but because we set off at such an amazing pace, expectations were raised even higher, the euphoria took over.
Klopp and Pochetino have now had time to adapt their players while Conte always had the players but just needed to get the system and confidence in it. Hell, I even expect Maureen to get it right sooner rather than later but again, it takes time and he even knows the league. Wenger is a top 4 specialist, of that there is no doubt.
The system that Pep is trying to evoke within the club won't come over night and he isn't accustomed to the league. Will it come good, can anybody be certain, but I'm sure we will eventually prevail in games like we played at the weekend. Pep will have greater awareness of the clubs in this country and will evolve his tactics accordingly whilst ensuringbthe controlled elegant style that has ebery other club wishing he was their manager.
Yes, we have been knee-jerk and doom mongering but it's just that, a point in time that can soon be forgotten and laughed at, looking back. It's just a matter of time though, and these abject performances will be relegated to history.
Have I been happy with the recent run of results, apart from Barca it has to be a 'No'. But am I happy with where I think we're going, well that's a resounding 'Aye' from me, as it's the bigger picture that I always look at.
Or am I a Happy Clapper?

I agree with you Beefy.
I would even go as far to say i am not expecting to win the PL this season and i am perfectly fine with that. I expect us to be in the mix, that goes without saying. I also think we are very capable of winning the title, but three other sides will also say the same. If we win it then brilliant and if we dont then so be it. As long as we learn for the following year, not unlike Klopp who is finding his feet well this season so far.
At the start of the season would anyone have been disappointed with third in the PL, just two points off the pace and sitting nicely in the toughest CL group (again)? I for one would have and am happy with that. Coupled with some of the best football we have seen for years i am very much pro Pep
Nigels Tackle wrote:Dimples wrote:To much left to do to win PL title in 2016/2017?
It is a big ask now IMO because:
1. 27 games left with 33% of those Vs. the top 6 challengers(Liv, Chel, Ars, Spurs, MU, Eve)
2. Those 9 games include: home and away Vs. Liv, Chel and Ars
3. One run of 3 games is: Liv H, Ars A, Chel A
4. We are dropping points again'st the 'lower' teams, that is the killer, you have to win these
5. It is proven that mid-week CL football negatively impacts on a team's perfromance the following w/e in the PL
What do you think?
absolutely nothing to worry about
everything is tickityboo!

To even think about the league contenders and fixtures until after xmas is absolutely ridiculous.
Someone needs to punch this forum in the fanny and get it moving.
It won't be me.
Cheers

Oh come on. We huffed and puffed against both Boro and Soton without ever looking like we were about to score
