Busy night at the CFA but another good win for City. Just wish the first team had someone like Keira Walsh.19 and already a team leader.

Here's my match report from the game:

Not quite sure what makes Keira a leader but she is a quality player and a key player as Nick Cushing says. She is still so young as well and it took someone as good as Lucy Bronze to stop her from being player of the year. Amazing that she isn't in the England squad ...yet!

Keira's apparently a massive influence in the dressing room. Impressive for someone whose 19.

Away leg at 5pm today. The game is being streamed here:

For some reason it wouldn't work for me. It buffered then failed to play.
I found another legitimate stream here though: http://www.manchestercity.vitalfootball ... p?a=573995

What a season they have had.Unbeaten in every 90 minute match ( lost in extra time to Chelsea in the FA cup), 2 trophies and a 1/4 final in the Chumps league is a fantastic achievement and for me they can get better.

The success is based on great organisation and the Pep theory of controlling the game with possession of the ball. The back 5 is very good but in front of them thay have a great holding player in Keira Walsh and 2 tireless workers in Jill Scott and Izzy Christiansen.Throw in wide players who work very hard for the team and you have a very solid well orgainised team who are incredibly hard to score against never mind beat.

The weakness is the quality up front in creating and especially scoring goals. It's great to have Toni Duggan scoring worldies which she seems to do 2 or 3 times a season but there is a lack of real composure and quality at that end which makes the defensive stability so important. Improve significantly in the final third and we can be a real threat in europe as well as domestically.

Who knows though we may even progress even further in the Chanps league next year alrhough I think winning it might be a step too far to hope for. Massive credit to Nick Cushing the manager to get the team to this level so quickly. Some tough quick decisions made and good recruitment along the way but the way he gets them to play reflects well on him and it seems the ladies respond well to him as manager which is a good sign.

Manchester City Women have been drawn against Danish side Fortuna Hjørring in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League.
City’s first leg will be away on 22nd or 23rd March, with the home leg a week later.
Should City win their last eight match, they will then play defending champions Lyon or Wolfsburg in the semi-finals in April.
The final is to be played at Cardiff City’s Stadium on Thursday, 1 June.

Fortuna Hjorring, sounds like a name for a brothel that takes payments in tuna rather than cash.

Not sure how close she is to being called up to the US women's national team. But I wonder if that's the reason she is leaving. To play on the national team you have to be playing in the NWSL.

She doesn't get to start much does she? At least not when I've seen it.

Anyone know if these Danes are any good?

She had a tough decision to make between her football and a very promising career in medicine which she put on hold when she joined City. I would guess the lack of games played will have helped her make the decision she has. I personally think she should have played more than she did as she has a better quality of passing in the final third than the others.

currently second in the Danish league behind Bronby so probably one of the easier teams left in the competition
