That said, it was only playmaking Arsenal. I still fear for our defence against teams that are going to hoof it up and over rather than try to patiently play through us.

For what reason would they have been ruled out? And if there was a reason why have Sky taken up the baton to insinuate they were given incorrectly even though all and sundry have said there was nothing wrong with them?

Every decision in every game doesn't have to be bias mate, fuck me they'd look fucking stupid if they did. I suppose you believe that all was right with the Chelsea game as well?

I think there is definitely a media agenda which is obviously commercially driven.
Call it protectionism.
I do think with Sky putting the money in they have too much influence in areas of when matches are played and what they choose to show or not show in match coverage.
I also think they may have influence in PGMOL and some refereeing decisions this year have been very heavily biased towards certain teams.
However it doesn't mean every official is bent. If every game was rigged I do think that our two goals yesterday would have easily been ruled out and it has certainly happened us in other games. They were legitimate goals and very tight decisions that the officials got right.
As stated, it doesn't stop Sky pushing their angle on things. I watched on NBCSN and got a totally different perspective, they went out of their way, in comparison, to show that the goals were good and were very fair in their analysis.
I still didn't see one replay of the penalty shout though, so I don't know where they got their original feed from, but I suspect it's from Sky. Le Saux kept on saying I'd love to see a replay of that, but none came.

I do believe there is an agenda, but I also thought the officials did well yesterday.
Maybe I've just become accustomed to us being screwed over, but yesterday gave me a sliver of hope.

Maybe if we get a fair crack of the whip we will get something out of this season.
Proof of the pudding for me will be seeing us get fair officiating against the Scouse and the Rags, although there is also an argument that can easily be supported that says it's events in games leading up to these games where we quite often get screwed over. Injuries, suspensions that shouldn't occur and being cheated out of points all adding to the pressure.

I've honestly been close to giving up on professional football, this year because of it. But I still remain hopeful that City will beat all odds against them.
Especially now. Despite people moaning about Pep. I really don't believe anyone on here really wants rid of him. I think some are more impatient than others, but you'd really want to be off your head to give up on him or the team now. This is the time to get behind the team. It will come right. I don't doubt that at all.
You can see elements of what Pep wants to achieve working. There's plenty not working, we know, but wait until he has The personnel to do the job. This will be awesome.

To be honest, some of the relentless whinging on here is as jading as the media agenda

Glad it's just not me mate but time to move on after a couple of decent performances, Eve n from the ref ;-)

Only got positivity for the Hull game, let's see what we can do there before we meet the Dippers in their back yard. Any kind of result there will keep me happy.

What a first game at the Etihad Stadium it was for me. Worth the $$ and 6.5 hour flights. Thank you CITY, In Pep we Trust.

Still can't get over that ball from De Bruyne. Not even sure if he looked up, just pure instinct.

I heard James is after a move in January, not sure if it's possible to play both in the same side but I'd like to see us try.

It was top drawer but I don't believe it's instinct, it's method, in that system Pep instructs the wide players to hug the sidelines so DeBruyne knew he'd be there. What was surprising was how narrow Monreal was.

That type of blind pass out wide comes with risk of backfiring though as Garcia found out against Boro, he played a blind pass wide left expecting Nolito to be there but he was tucked inside ( for some reason) which allowed their fullback easy possession, which in turn led to their equaliser.

It was female intuition in my opinion. Whatever the truth of it, it was fucking brilliant and something very few players I've seen have been capable of. Perhaps Bergkamp, for one.

It will be interesting to see how the ref's decisions go in the up coming Chelsea matches.
A 6 point lead and looks like they can extend it with easy games coming up and the other top 5 certain to drop points as they play each other.
That is not good for business. Need to keep everybody close together.
Lets see what happens.

Just read a piece in the London Echo saying that Chelsea get a full weeks rest from Christmas to New Year with some fairly easy fixtures coming up. The rest are between 4 and 6 days (us 5).

Chelsea seem to be playing the harder teams after/before those teams play in Europe and easy games when others have no European commitments. Looks a lot easier for them than anybody else but that's what you get without distractions.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Chelsea just yet as they don't have strength in depth and rely on Costa , Hazard and Courtois heavily . They had allsorts of problems last season from downing tools , bad discipline and lots on injuries . Although very consistent so far any of the issues mentioned could still yet stop them , we need to go a run after back to back wins 3 pts at Hull will do nicely then IF we can turn the dippers over at Anfield for the first time in donkeys we are right back in it and all the pressure will be on the chavs .
