And he did his groin doing this posturing?
A flick back of the head in disgust and too quick a pirouette, we've all done it ...er, haven't we?

The figures of £40m+ for a soon to be 29 year old is a big reason to avoid this. Injuries will become more commonplace abd theres little resale value.
Plus as others have mooted, this is probably a tactic used by his agent/himself to garner a better deal with Barca.
Cant see it happening and would be disappointed if it did

If we are spending £40+ million on someone touching 30 I'd rather just give Juve it for Bonnuci and say 'fuck it'.

I can't "prove" it but it was the last part of that story to came out. I get why he would want to stay. He'd be under amazing pressure, similar to Bravo and look how that's going. I wouldn't say he "snubbed" us though.

Ah right, it was a genuine question as I hadn't heard we'd offered that much.
If not him I'd rather put the £40 Millie toward another quality centre half

No we didn't. Pep mentioned in an interview some time ago that he admired Bonucci. At the end of last season Bonucci was offered around at £50m. It was a cheeky try for a 29 year old centre half, albeit a top player. City were one of the club's contacted. The media put Pep's comments together with Bonucci's representatives contact and made a conclusion. The contact was purely on their side and City made it clear we had no interest. We were never in for him and never in any negotiations. We were closer to signing Mido. It was the biggest mis story of the summer. I really wish we had signed him but there was no truth in it.

Yes we heard Juve offered him to us for 50-60m. We claimed no interest but I think that's probably bollocks as of course we would be under Pep. It later it came out that Bonucci did not want to go anyway and the offer was on the table if he wanted it.

It's a common tactics in Italy for club to spread these rumours around the sales of season tickets. Then they "reject" the rumours claiming they would never sell their priced asset or whatever. This apparently gives a club big boost AND in macho culture gives this sense that "we stopped British/Spanish/German invaders". I once read some book about Italian football and this was mentioned there.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Also - if asked by the press, a manager will always say something like he admires the player.
Very rare they say 'no not interested he's an absolute crock of shite'.

Unless, of course, you're Big Mal talking about Colin Bell.
