Absolutely.

I also think there could be some mileage in this; ordinary fans breaking the Sky-BT duopoly.......OK perhaps not quite that, but it was still very refreshing all the same.

If it gets too popular it will get shut down.

In what way could it be shut down Mr Nool ??

Genuine question.

Threatening with law suits, for instance. I guess this game is in a grey area, since no broadcaster had bought the rights for it, but you're sure as hell not allowed to film and share a whole Sky or BT owned Premier League game.

You are going way out on a limb there. Do you honestly think anyone can stop you using your camera as you choose to ?

And if you do, just think 'Twitter'/'Facebook' and you will see. Go for the providers first , not the users.

TBF, Willy's conceded a goal in every other domestic game he's played this season which makes his record, er, ...better than Bravo's.

Sky/BT can threaten Facebook/Twitter/Periscope with legal action if they allow users to broadcast material which they have the rights for. Should perhaps have specified that.

Although if people found other channels to broadcast on and it became popular, I could see a private person or two being made an example of.

I know exactly what Mr N means and he is right in that those organisations that pay to live broadcast games have a TOTAL exclusive licence to do so.

On the other hand, fuck 'em. If they can't provide fair, impartial coverage then let's drive a horse and cart through their 'rights'.

And I'm sure City fans would club together to pay any fine, as would the fans of any other clubs except the Chosen Few.

I'm not worrying. I'm just saying that if "fan TV" ever became really popular it will either get shut down (or more likely commercialised).

Yeah right , so , of all the billions of smartphones sending data around the globe, it will be possible to shut it down , er I don't think so.

I think Nool means the sites that are allowing them to stream will be left with no option to shut them down. Not stop the actual fans from filming.

And I think you're missing the main point: if it gets too popular.
