We have some great attacking talent in our squad

Jesus has made a great start and will provide genuine competition for Aguero now. Hopefully we see an improved Aguero.

Sane is really starting to find his feet in the Prem now. He is getting better and better each week. His ability to take a player on is fantastic.

Sterling's great season continues. Constantly making great runs and is involved in most of our attacking play.

KDB is truly a world class talent. His vision and passing range is phenomenal.

If we can start taking more chances in these games where we have 70% possession, it will largely make the fact we have shit defenders redundant.

Stunningly good. I'm going to get carried away and say that's our front line for next eight years or so and we are going to score TON of goals.

Now defence...
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Clean sheet, Willy barely tested so it's a great day, but I did notice a couple of times WHU got behind us with over the top balls. Thankfully they were shit, Big Willy was in goal and Stones did an excellent covering tackle. However it's so obvious we need new fullbacks.

The pace of that attack with Silva and Yaya to pick them out was sublime thigh.
I always said Pep would get it right.

I think, but don't remember exactly, Kev passed the ball to Raheem which led to the penalty.

Picked the pass for the penalty too.
Not a bad return for an off day.

Kev didn't have an off day or even a quiet day but his role has changed a bit so he doesn't have to be on the front line and can sit a little deeper and dictate with Merlin and Yaya a little deeper.

Any thought that WHU were just crap should be dispelled. For a while it looked like it was going to be a tough game for us with them defending deep and in numbers and likley to be a threat on the break. Part of out game now when we are getting it right is pressing and two goals came from that today. We force a mistake and then the pace and quality of the break is sensational. Do that and score goals and the oppos are bound to struggle.Get the whole game right and of course the oppos will look poor .

You'll never work for BT Sport, Doug.

Damn right I won't. Did you hear the commentator seemingly desperate to get Jesus sent off for the foul that wasn't a foul! Even in the 2nd half he still brought it up.

Looks like Pep's found out what our strengths are and is playing to them.

KDB is the new Petrov ;)

Ha ha. That's a bit wild. No, it's that I expect so much from Kev. I will certainly concede Doug's point that he made a goal, scored it, and the pass for penalty was excellent. There seemed to be long spells where he wasn't involved.

Oh and I loved that attacking line up. Not a "defensive midfielder" in sight, let alone two!

Jesus is the catalyst. His joining has given us a timely boost.

In terms of OP, yes it's massively exciting, I'm not one to get carried away but fuck me you can just see tons of goals in future.

Great to see Sane finding his feet. And these front four gelling takes pressure off Silva who was sole creator for large spells of a couple of seasons.

Jesus has amazing work rate..............he's like a young Tevez. I wasn't so sure how he'd like the physicality of the Prem.....but he is one hard little bastid! He is just what we needed.
The front 3's pace last night is enough to scare any team in the world.

Made me laugh, did anyone hear De Bryne's interview after the match? They asked him what its like playing with Jesus and co...he said "We can't keep up with them in midfield"

If you saw enough of Jesus play before he arrived (I made efforts to watch a few games/videos showing all of his touches/involvement in matches for Palmieras, besides his appearances for Brazil) you can see that he had a very good chance to actually cope well with the physicality of the Prem.

From what I observed he was very physical, and aggressive...almost too much so at times, suggesting he may need to learn to temper it a bit, which I noted in an earlier post on him as well (he could have been sent off yesterday). He's also quite good in the air, which we have not seen much of yet, and is not afraid to go head to head against centre halves during one on ones.

All of this is why I actually thought he would actually hit the ground running, and provide some juice to our attack immediately, and was not amongst those who were more reluctant to make such claims.

Perhaps we, understandably, assume that with a comparison to Neymar and that he's Brazilian (based on our own stereotyping) we believe that he would be a soft "diver."

Actually, he can dive...despite how tough he is. I have seen it before.

The very thought that he could have been sent off is ludicrous and even our incompetent referees couldnt do that. The first yellow was really a joke. The imaginary red card thing would mean bookings every match and at least 3 or 4 last night from what I saw but only given to him as he is a new foreigner and needed to be taught a lesson.Unlike Noble who is salt of the earth Englander!

And we all know that the 2nd wasn't even a foul even though the useles ref thought it was despite not penalising some of the WHU thuggery through the match

Agreed, the first yellow was a "pipe down new boy" message and nothing more. Just more evidence of inconsistent shite reffing.

KDB is the future captain of this team. We can not win anything this year without him in the team IMO. He is the complete player..reminds me of Kaka.
Sane was the buy I couldn't wait to start playing for city. Injury at the start played into the doubters but this is the winger we will be talking about for years to come.
GJ is a gem of a buy his arrival is the shine and smell of a brand new car. All three will do wonders to help advance Sterling's game(football brain).

Sterling has a great footballing brain. Some of his final passes for a tap in are fantastic, just wish he'd develop a better finish. Similar to Silva in that aspect.

Sorry disagree Sterling is a checkers player not a chess player, he cannot see the play build just whats in front of him. But he is young and will learn with the group around him.
