The programme hadn't been going for too long before Revie and O'Farrell started to 'have a go' at Big Mal. It wasn't just banter but hardline venom and dislike being spewed out by these two who, temperamentally and in football ideology, were the complete antithesis of Big Mal, his ideas, footballing philosophy and lifestyle.
I don't know if Big Mal was stunned or just amused because he didn't rise to bile they were spouting and just kept a quizzical smile on his face. Cloughie, however, had no compunctions about taking these two on and jumped to Big Mal's defence. He completely wiped the floor with them and made them look like the football destroyers they really were, with the dubious methods they employed to win games.
Poor old Brian Moore was working overtime as a mediator and it was only his efforts, plus the TV adverts, which stopped proceedings developing into fisticuffs.
It made enthralling viewing though and Cloughie was supremely in his element.
Bit before my time mate but I'd guess that Ckoughie was proved right. Didn't realise you were that old though, will give you more respect now though. Grandad
Cheers chum; I'm just a young man gone wrong, thanks to supporting City all these years.
