Subinho

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Re: Subinho

Postby MaineRoadMemories » Wed Jan 20, 2010 11:16 am

I was sat less than 5 yards away from Robinho in the same row (great seats to watch a game from) and he didn't react to anything much in the entire game. Neither did some of the other subs though. I think he knew he wasn't getting a game because he hardly warmed up.

Other interesting points to note from been sat virtually in the players area were:
  • Ireland warmed up throughout the match and looked desperate to get on
  • Petrov seemed quite content sat their all wrapped up warm
  • When we started pressing for the ball with Tevez, SWP and Bellamy chasing their keeper and defenders Mancini was shouting and directing them to drop back deep and not bother (this annoyed me slightly as I think we should of got after Evans and Brown)
  • Mancini was constantly telling Bellamy and SWP to tuck in and not be dragged out to the wings. Makes the game tighter in the middle but gave Giggs and Valencia far too much room
  • Mancini was having a good old moan to Brian Kidd everytime we cocked up a move or failed to defend an attack
  • Mancini was getting well pissed off with Benjani. He told him to come on but it took him nearly 5 minutes to get undressed
  • He did not seem too happy with Garrido in the last 15 mins and often gestured Italian style when he gave it away cheaply to the opposistion midfielders, I think his was the reason he brought on Subinho MKII.
  • When Boyata came off he looked shattered, when Tevez came off he looked well chuffed with himself

PS: Subinho is a great nickname!

Strange that when Bellamy spits his dummy out after being subbed, it's 'passion' and when Robinho is pissed off at being on the bench he is a twat. Double standards?

I think there's a good chance Mancini will play him at Scunthorpe & look for a reaction. If that reaction is a great performance, I could imagine him getting at least some mins on the ptch at OT. If he plays like shit though, I could see Mancini subbing him. Getting subbed for not being good enough at Scunthorpe would probably be the end of him.

I hope your theory is right and he'll get a start against scunthorpe and will hopefully apply himself and prove he is worth hanging onto
imo though, he is taking up a first team space in the squad and we simply don't need him

I think his attitude is what makes him the man he is.If you dont like it thats fair enough.
But for someone who could probably walk into the same job anywhere in the world, or be in a financially secure enough position to do a Mills with us and never work again. To hope that you or Mancini can change his attitude if he decides to be stubborn is living in cloud cuckoo land.

last night just wasn't a Robson sort of game. Trouble is, which are?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Non are.
So we will just have to pay out his contract for the next few yearsas its unlikely anybody will come in for him on those wages and he can play in the reserves which would make most people happy. We can afford it.

If that's the case then most people will be very unhappy as you well know. Do you think Scunthorpe is a suitable game for him to show us how good he is?

No. If he scores 6 against Scunthorpe it won't help.

We need him to play against top teams away from home and put the shift in. He has the ability to do Scunthorpe on his own.

But no amount of giggling and clapping will not change that. I don't care about his reactions on the bench but I want to see him perform on the pitch.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Of course he SHOULD do pretty well and I genuinely hope he does but what I am saying is that although a goal or two might improve his confidence I don't think that game on its own will solve anything longer term. Games like Everton away are the sort of match where we want him to show his ability and commitment.

If he is as shit as most on here say he is who is gonna buy him?
He is on a massive contract.A contract that we will have to pay up which will be a few million if we give him away(sure the Sheikh will like that).
Otherwise he can rot in the reserves and we still have to pay him.
Some of you want to look up what contract means.

Mancini wasn't the only one getting pissed off with Benjani, the man had lead boots. But the he probably suffers from going on after the clockwork mouse Tevez. Only a matter of time for Spanish Gaz, isn't Bridgey due back soon?

The winger thing is interesting. I kept wondering why we were marking Giggs and Valencia from such a distance, but from what you say this seems deliberate. Bobby obviously thinks it better to defend the narrower area in block than give them more space to come through the middle. It looked a bit scary, but as we won I guess you could say it worked, apart from their one goal!
