Rags at their place..

So whos optimistic of us going through?.. I was thinking we'd need 3-0 or 3-1 at our place to give us a good chance.

I fancy our chances of scoring, which means they have to get 3 to win!!

I reckon if Ade and Vierra plays we are in with a good chance of scoring...hopefully Ireland will be back in contention

I'm still pretty confident

Still a bit edgy but with Adebayor, Ireland and Vieira all possibles I should be more confident. We'll defo score, that much I know.

I mentioned on another thread already, but does anyone know if Van Der Sar is suspended for the return leg?? He was on a yellow (going by the BBC teamsheet) for last night and then he got booked for delayng the penalty.

Same here, in fact if we score first I think we'll get chances to add to it.

We have the qualities to fight back...we have shown this all season. We have no reason to doubt if we go 1 down that we can't score.

we've got ade back so if we have as many corners/crosses thrown into the box as last night were bound to score, and i cant see them puttin 3 past given atall. So im quit confident that we will atleast get a draw or grab a goal and then go defenseive with Vieira and dejong for the win. either way its gonna be epic. Also i was enjoying the old school "ryan giggs is illegitimate" last night, should be even louder at there place though

I'll be honest, I think we will regret not scoring 3 at home and being so completely negative and defensive against them on our own turf (not that we had much choice given our list of injured players).

0-1. Tevez AGAIN. Riot at the stadium as the 'Facts' dawn on rags fans that they are destined to go trophyless this season. Wayne Rooney hugging Tevez after the game, asking him to put in a good word with Mancini. Gary Neville sobbing like a little girl- even before kick-off- begging not to be in the starting eleven. Berbatov almost motionless. Ferguson moaning about not enough added time, that our goal was offside and that the referee was either incompetent or diabolical, for which he will receive no punishment.

It'll be tough for your lot.

If you play that frustratingly cautious crap you did in the first half, might as well throw in the towel now. Dare I say it, but Hughes may have been the perfect manager to take a 2-1 lead to Old Trafford. Although tactically inept, he could probably get the players in the right frame of mind ahead of such a big game. Mancini was still baffling with some of his substitutions even when youse were 2-1 up (Benjani?! WTF?! Has he done enough to warrant a first team place after 1 goal at 'Boro?)

Having said that, I really do hope you pull something out of the hat and beat them on aggregate. Your fans deserve it.

They go 1-0 up and the game goes to extra time. They're still leading when the board goes up for 2 minutes injury time and in the 4th minute Gary Neville's moustache brings down Tevez. (The rags are quite correct in their complaints, there was no moustache there to bring him down). Tevez thumps the penalty into the net so hard it goes straight through and pulls that banner down. Ferguson's head explodes on the touchline and the dejected rags leave the ground just in time to see the 'For Sale' signs put around the swamp.

Reckon that's how it will go.

I'll tell you what is quite contentious- the extra time issue. If it's 3-2 on the night to ManUSA on the night, then they get another half-hour to try and score what would be a winner. In any other competition, whatever the scoreline at 90 minutes goes (See the way Jason Roberts of Wigan broke our collective Highbury heart in the semi in 2006)

On the other hand, a 1-0 scoreline at 90 mins means and extra half-hour for City to try and score the all important equaliser. Swings and roundabouts, really.

Will settle for a drab 1-1.
We score first, then take a pummelling. They equalise on 85mins and spend the next 15 mins (see what I did there?) of play coming up against a solid nine players on the edge of the area who will launch it to Benjani, only for the ball to quickly come back into our half. Shrek will deck Vieira in the 97th minute, but the ref won't see it. Bacon face will insist that the ref has underestimated the amount of injury time by at least 10 minutes.

Sky Sports, paddy Power, Betfred and The Mirror will make us second favourites to beat Blackburn in the final.
