I thought Mendy looked like just the player we needed. Tall, dynamic and plenty of pace. I hope he comes and does well.

I thought defensivley he was shit. Alot of cash for a one season wonder with no premier league experience, i knoe same could be said for silva but at least hes done it in a couple of countries and has a decent international pedigree.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We must need more British players?

Not all British, we need more English or Welsh players. The regulations are that the 25 man squad (over 21 in the case of the PL) must contain 8 England & Wales Association trained players. In the case of the CL, 4 of the 8 must be club trained - i.e. registered for 3 years before 21 and effectively the CL criteria prevail. So we currently only have Sterling, Stones and Delph, Clichy was eligible but he's gone. The only club trained players over 21 at the start of next season are Gunn and Denayer and the only first team squad under 21 eligible for the UEFA B list is Iheanacho. U21s not on the B list are Jesus, Garcia and Roberts etc. They would have to be part of the 17 man free list along with all the other foreign trained players for the CL but are part of the unlimited number of U21s allowed in the PL.

Trying to work out what this means for our current roster...

At present, these lads are probably in;

1. Bravo
2. Kompany
3. Kolarov
4. Otamendi
5. Gundogan
6. Fernandinho
7. Yaya
8. Garcia
9. Gundogan
10. De bruyne
11. Sane
12. Silva 1
13. Silva 2
14. Aguero
15. Jesus
16. Ederson???
17. Mendy???

These are our homegrown lads, no doubt boosted by a few younger lads
;

18. Gunn
19. Adarabioyo
20. Stones
21. Delph
22. Sterling
23. Walker?

Opportunity for these lads to come back in?
Roberts? Denayer?

On the way out?
Ihenacho, Nolito, Fernando

There was a rumour that Otamendi might be on his way out as well... looking at the numbers above, that might be the case! If we were to add Fabinho to the likes of Mendy and Ederson, it looks like it would be between Otter and Garcia.

Also makes the possibility of us still pursuing Sanchez a little more remote... unless it involved Aguero leaving?

He joined City from Villareal in August 2015 and will be 20 come the start of 2017/18 season.
So this rule

43.04 A "club-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the
season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which
he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with
his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a
period starting with the first official match of the relevant national championship
and ending with the last official match of that relevant national championship) or
of 36 months....

presumably is modified by this

'43.11 A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1996 and
has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of
two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players
aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the
participating club for the previous two years without interruption.'

Yep, it was this ruling that allowed Iheanacho to go on the B list last January which freed up the place for Jesus in the CL squad.

Yep, it was this ruling that allowed Iheanacho to go on the B list last January which freed up the place for Jesus in the CL squad.
It also allowed Nastasic onto the B list for one year only before reverting to foreign trained when he reached 21.

I hope Pep knows what hes doing. Lets hope their season wasnt a flash in the pan.

They have some real talent though.

Silva and Mendy seem like it from Monaco to me, so less likely Fabinho. We next have Walker and Ederson.

Possibly all done before the start of the close season.

If we sign Neymar I'll kick myself in the balls once for every goal Aguero scores next season.

Neymar!?

So it would be a forward line permutating from

Aguero
Sane
Sterling
Jesus
Neymar
Nacho(?)

And behind them

Silva D
Silva B
KDB
Gundogan
Yaya(?)
Fernandinho
Delph

Wow. Just wow. Even without Neymar, that is some squad. As Hannibal used to say "I love it when a plan comes together"

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this. Absolute fucking diving, play-acting tosser.

G. Jesus can lose this aspect from his game as well, I think.

He seems like he can take a boot Gabe and still come back. That Okaka went mad at him last Sunday and I kept an eye on Jesus to see if he'd go hiding and a couple of minutes later he went and stood next to Okaka and asked for the ball. I love that!

Neymar is just a horrible little twat. That video of Barca celebrating in front of the opposition fans and then one of them getting hit by a piece of paper and crying about it is pathetic.

This.

But I think he is similar to Tranny. Hate his style of play, hate him, but deep inside I know he will be fantastic.

Still, I would love for our money to go elsewhere.
