Sam Lee says Mendy and Emerson have agreed to come it's mostly the details that's why the delay.
Emerson has the 3rd party issue as well.
So he says its possible the deals could fall apart, but fans seem to be more impatient than normal about how long it can take because the Silva signing was unusually early.
Also seems to question the reports that we were really interested in Fabinho other than just we were linked to him earlier in the year.
I think it could be Utd leaking our interest in him just to save some face.

I quite like Van Dijk but those numbers are too high for him.
Southampton wont sell for less (if they sell at all). My guess is those wages are an attempt to get Van Dijk to help us by asking for a move

CityWatch saying we've agreed a large fee with Atletico for Lucas Hernandez and he'll join either this summer or next depending on their transfer ban.
if true i like it a lot. i think he's gonna be a great player. he was on my short list of realistic players I wanted to see come to City.
again, if true, shame we couldn't get his brother too in a double deal. prob cheaper than Mendy and imo better. although supposedly he's off to Real.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Not for me either. I don't want VVD and think he is completely over rated.

Apologies for the pedantry but Citywatch aren't saying that. They are reporting that Cadena Cope, a Spanish radio station, are saying that.

Hernandez is another shortie by the way, not really what's needed in the numerous neanderthal PL setpieces, which are the principal opportunity for most teams to score against us.

Looks like the short arse won't be coming this summer, it's being reported that Atletico's ban will remain in place.

I tend to agree, he is over rated at the moment, but who isn't. He is 25 so he is not old, particularly for a centre back who tend not to peak until late 20s. He can improve.

According to the Guardian City now have only the fourth highest wage bill behind United Chelsea and Liverpool.

Whats the critetia?
Highest in actual amounts? Or highest as a percenrage of turnover?
I would be surprised if we had a lower actual amount than the dippers but seeing as our turnover is much higher than theirs our percentage will be lower and will continue to fall as revenues increase

Actual amounts based on 2015/16. Their percentage of turnover is worryingly high if you're a dipper.

Actual salaries as far as I can make out as 31/5/17
Rags £232m
Chekski
Scouse
Us £198m
Gooners £195m
Given we shipped 5 just before that date, some on quite high salaries.....

Ok. Fair enough. Very interesting article. So we are not ruining football as much as we used to then?!

I thought we lowered the wage structure and switched to a bonus system two seasons ago. Which seems to have done wonders for our finances, but not so much on the pitch.
