Sad news. If it is heart related which wouldn't surprise me, then why are the medical staff not picking up on it? Unless just a freak thing.

Rest in Peace x

This is all very sobering.

Under 'normal' circumstances, he might be said to have only been through one third of his overall projected lifespan.

This is very sad indeed.

It does appear to be a worrying trait, it can't be coincidence, they must be missing something as I'm sure all top clubs screen players regularly.

Very sad indeed, RIP

Closer to two thirds for someone from the Ivory Coast.

RIP. Surprised to hear that a) he was 30, and b) he was no longer at Newcastle.

Horrible

Rip.

indeed, another young black player. Curious that this happens in football, no other sport (if I am not mistaken). Here in Romania three young footballers from Africa died in on the field in the last 4 years.

Shocking stuff.

Also, our former player, Alex Nimely, left the country after he had something similar. Now plays in Norway.

My biggest memory of him was him scoring a late equaliser in the "famous" 4-4 draw between Arsenal and Newcastle.
Turns out it was his only Newcastle goal.

Sad news

By far not the only sport. Basketball, football, lacrosse and many others. Every case is unique but many have to do with arrhythmias, most which can be corrected with an AED.

He scored a cracker against us that was wrongly ruled out as well. Very sad news. Hope this wasn't a preventable tragedy.
