If we're going to lose out at least it was this Mickey Mouse 'Spring Series' (cut down adjustment to the calendar change).

Duggan gone.
I never warmed to her as a scouser but was a good player but seemed recently to not be first choice. Scored some great goals but never a great finisher to me. Those who know better is this correct, will we miss her?
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Toni wasn't getting much game time so best for all parties. By all accounts she was unhappy.
Shame to see her go.
As for finishing that's pretty standard for women's footy but she was one of the better one imo.

a goalscorer but not a great one although she had the ability to score great goals. We are still searching for the right players who will have that quality and composure up front. Toni was pretty good but to be honest we need better and we are still looking.

On the subject of Women's Football (well, Manchester City Women really, since City supply half the team), is no-one else watching England in the Euro's.
Ok, the quality may be a bit dubious, but there's a lot more passion than in the men's game.
Love it myself, and this is coming from someone who can't raise any enthusiasm over men's international football.

My lad had us watching the quarter-final last night - wasn't too bad, although a lot of effort without creating an awful lot. Thought Jill Scott was lucky to still be on the field though as it was a pretty tasty challenge that might have been worse than the yellow she got. Thought there was a lack of a final ball, but Bronze was pretty good throughout and it was no surprise the goal came from her movement.
You know how at men's football you might wolf whistle when they b*ll*cks something up? My lad wolf whistled during a poor bit of play it last night and I was p!ss!ng myself laughing - funny how its interpretation changes in a different context!

I've been keeping my eye on them - three of the back four for England in the quarter-final supplied by City (plus the keeper, plus a midfielder). Not bad going. Scott is ineligible for the semi-final after being booked though - and our keeper had to go off with an injury.

In some ways you have to be impressed by the way they get results, are well organised, very committed etc etc. But on the other hand the quality of first touch, control , passing is everage at best most of the time and the lack of composure and awareness beggars belief at times.
I actually think City womner try yo play a bit more football than England ( crazy seeing as so many City players are in the England squad) but that will come down at least partly to the way the managers want them to play.
Drives me daft at times some passes are clearly on but they just don't see it and because they aren't aware enough of what is around them just knock it on in hope.

I was just talking about the quarter final.
Bardsley is ruled out of the competition now with a broken leg (it looked like a nothing injury when they showed to slow motion replay during the match, like she'd pulled something)

My word that was a let down - someone with more experience might need to explain if tonight's performance was typical - all seemed very direct when it was crying out for intricate build up play. I also mused if Bronze isn't wasted at right back and would make a better box to box midfielder?

Girls were terrible. Completely lost the game plan and resorted to hoofing long balls down field. No composure and lack of awareness.
Pretty much what doug said a few posts back.

Composure was difinately lacking especially against France the other night. Hoof the ball anywhere seemed to be the tactic just to get it anywhere from goal, so no supprise they lost last night. I also think no Jill Scott or Karen Beardsley had a big impact too

I wonder if this is what the manager was really referring to when, previously, he claimed the side were "street fighters" ??

i am not sure they lost the game plan because I am actually not sure they had one in the first place.
At City Nick Cushing is pretty clear that he wants to control the ball and the game. He wants pass and move and definitely not knock it long bla bla. I am just not sure what the England manager wants and so many of them treat the ball like a hot potato. Maybe we jusy don't have the technical ability to play a passing game and try to really play so they have to go quick and longer as it's safer. Then our strength is all about energy, being organised and getting tackles in or just defending when the ball comes in.
I reckon a new manager is needed. Lucy is the one special player we have ( Maybe KB?) and I think full back is her best role as she can defend as well as be often the best attacker with her strong runs. Not sure she has the technical qulaity to be in midfield. Actually she could play any position and probably be as good as any of the others

Certainly agree Lucy Bronze looks head and shoulders above everyone else.

Disagree, Steph Houghton is at the same level as Lucy with Jill Scott, Karen Bardsley and Izzy Christiansen not far behind.

Couldn't disagree more.
LB is a level above Jill Scott and Izzy.
Can't really compare her with Steph or Karen as they are both so specialised, but in her role I'd agree Steph is up there.
The pisser is that they've just swapped Lucy Bronze for a German international striker, Pauline Bremer with Lyon.
Very bad move IMO

Bit confused why Lucy felt she needed to leave for a new challenge when the champs league has yet to be won here!
Sad too as she is probably the best player in England. After Toni leaving I do wonder what's going on or is this the norm in women's football?

I'm curious what's going on as well.
