Bravo's weakspot is anywhere that isn't directly on a body part.

My number one priority for Prem keepers is always command of the box. Forget the lack of saves for a second (those can be down to nerves, confidence, form or a small sample size), Bravo's biggest shortcoming is the panic station every time a ball gets lobbed into his area, because he's a weak midget. Hart was better at it, but sailed past crosses on a regular basis too (and still does, looking at his compilation of howlers for Torino).
Most keepers are at least decent shot stoppers, but command of the box and a calm presence are what seperates the very best from the also-rans. Especially in this league, which is full of hoofball merchants and Kevin Davies types who will elbow your keeper in the ribs and get away with it.
That's a fine post.
Pretty much spells out my own thoughts.

to each their own but i was not overly impressed by his performance vs. Dortmund. yes he kept Benfica in it and actually helped them get a 1-0 win at home, but he just looked like any other regular keeper. i dont recall his distribution--which he's supposedly lauded for--being spectacular either. thats just one match though and im hardly an expert on goalkeepers.
ill give him a few months before i come up with a verdict.

A scarecrow would be an upgrade on Bravo , so I'm happy we have a keeper whom I've actually seen play, and imo he's fucking excellent, so we are not going to be disappointed-unless he catches the same disease that Bravo had for a year .

That's one point. And I even see the Pep story on Bravo. But when you let in every fucking shot that comes at you, 7 out of 7, however close to him, it's verging on the ridiculous.

Sorry to be so blunt but its the truth unfortunately .
To be fair, he in general has a keeper problem.
Thank fuck he had Neuer at Bayern, but let's not forget he signed Pepe Reina there. Pepe fucking Reina.
Exactly !
Reina as second choice is quality!
Give your head a serious wobble !
And, now we are linked with Reina...... haha

I have to give it to Pep though. He was pretty stubborn about Bravo all season and it was only his injury that saved our season (I know that's harsh thing to say but also true). But clearly hentoo saw what rest of us saw considering how quickly this was done. Usuallymthese goalkeeper deals drag on.
Also, despite his less than stellar season in Italy, we should be able to sell Hart pretty quickly and actually make hefty profitmafter all these years.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

now that's he's officially joined im most interested in the back up keeper spot. Hart def out of favor and now news that Bravo could be loaned out. Gunn has already joined Norwich on loan. Maybe the links to Pepe Reina were legit?

Not sure how Neville can justify that either, phips - I hope he gets bombarded with copies of that still shot.
