Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Sergio Aguero became the all-time leading non-European Premier League scorer when he struck Manchester City's opening goal against Liverpool on Saturday.
Argentina international Aguero opened the scoring at the Etihad Stadium after 24 minutes when Kevin De Bruyne sent him clear to round Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and slot home.
It was his 124th Premier League goal since joining City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, taking him clear of former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke's record of 123.
The goal -- the sixth successive time Aguero has scored at home to Liverpool -- also made him the Premier League's 15th highest scorer overall, one behind former Arsenal star Nicolas Anelka and two short of Robbie Keane's tally

there must be some truth, then!

He's the best striker that I've seen in the Prem.

Did Guardiola decide to start him only after being told that he regularly scores against these Redscousecunts? We'll never know.

Aguero's first goal for City was his 171st for the club, leaving him only six short of equalling Eric Brook as the club's greatest scorer. Brook took 453 appearances to reach his 177 between 1928 and 1940 - this game was Aguero's 257th.

I'd actually argue he is the most prolific. In terms of goals per minutes. But for me, he misses too many good chances to be classed as the most clinical.

Should have had a second, but it seems very critical on a day like today.

Good point. Probably the wrong term.
It would be interesting to see stats for the most clinical strikers in that bracket. ie how many chances per goals.
Probably no hope of those knocking around?
FIBD??

Someone posted some stats in another thread that it took Brook 12 years and 453 games to make it to 177 goals, Kun is now 6 goals behind Brook in a hell of a lot less matches, and injuries (and Pep) permitting he will overtake Brook this season. Phenomenal.

Sorry OD, I've looked but can't find anything.
Interesting debate, which criteria should be used to determine most clinical?
I would be inclined to say that minutes per goal should be the one to go with as ratio depends on type of shots and from where you're shooting so more difficult to define, penalty takers stats would be boosted in shot to goals ratios for example.
Notts is right in regards Nacho, he has a better ratio than Aguero over the past two seasons.

It's sad that Aguero has his value constantly undermined by the press, whether Pep intends it or not. He might not be in the same mould as Zabba for Mancness but I doubt we'll know what we've got until he's gone.
Hats off to a player who should be a premier league legend let alone a MCFC one
