Channel 5 reporting he was visibly upset talking to the club doctor as he went down the tunnel. Guardiola says it is 'not serious' but as Given pointed out, it's probably too early to know especially with the emotional reaction. Fingers crossed for the man. Manchester City can confirm Ilkay Gundogan suffered a knee sprain in the 2-1 win over West Brom on Wednesday.
The German midfielder underwent tests this morning after being taken off during the Carabao Cup victory at the Hawthorns and the Club’s medical staff found no significant damage.

The affected knee is different to the one which kept Ilkay out for nine months after his last setback suffered against Watford in December.

It is too early at this stage to give an exact time frame on his absence but he is expected to be back on the training field in the coming days.

You seem to be well informed about onfield diagnostics. Nevertheless, I ask myself whether the club would be quite so publicly positive if he had sustained an ACL which would rule him out for the season and probably end his playing career.

He's unique. We have a few of them: Yaya & De Bruyne for example. You have to slightly adjust how you play when you lose players like this. If Gundogan had a full season with us he'd be loved as he's fucking brilliant in a different way to everyone else in the squad.
