Training Wednesday 19/3

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Wed Mar 19, 2014 4:38 pm

Lovely day today if a bit windy and a little disappointing that the full higher fences were back up to make viewing difficult. Not as if cameras were there as all the paps home in on the Carrington swamp now for their targets.Loads out there today as well,I counted 23 but a couple of those were players I didn't know. Wabara and Boyata also there and happily so was Jovetic. One reminded me of SWP but it wasn't him.No Nastasic or Aguero outside today.

Jogs, keep ball circles and then into a variety of little stretch or fitness routines. You may have seen some of the pictures including the stretching with the big elastic band. Then into a game of 11 a side but on a pitch where the goalline was the edge of the box at each end.It started with just one touch ,moved into 2 touch before going all in.

Lots of energy on show as they were all giving it a real go in what was really quite a small pitch for 11 a side. The 1st goal from an Edin pass was scored by one of the players I didn't know.Nice finish at the back post too.The equaliser came quickly from Jovetic flicking in a Clichy cross.A lovely bit of skill saw Silva get past 2 but his shot went over.He shot again tho!

Another goal from the unknown player was ruled offside.Rodders got on the end of a couple of corners but didn't find the target. After a while I think MP ruled that the winger/overlapper should be allowed to cross.I guess from the attacking perspective so we could get them right rather than for the defenders to wok on clearing. The defenders won this part so more practice on crossing needed.( have I hard that before. To be fair though the wind was causing some problems whichever side the cross came from.

One or two got injured during the session but they didn't seem to be a real cause for concern.Negredo wasn't too happy when he appealed for a penalty after being baulked on one of the crosses. As if Vinnie would foul him!A free kick at the other end brought the next goal and it was a Yaya special. Not seen one of those for a while. Then it was good to see goals at either end from Negredo and Dzeko to end my watching as I had to leave early. Can't get the staff anymore but it was a good session of about 90 minutes up to me leaving.

Good news about Jovetic, but what on earth is wrong with Nasty, seems to have been out for weeks

I read something that said both Aguero and Jovetic could be back for the derby...

Crikey Doug Jovetic fit for training two days running. I really hope he's available at least for the bench on Saturday because I doubt Sergio will be ready for the derby and I'm not keen on the big two playing together in that game. Jovetic offers something different and could start.

Haha I am sure if you read enough in papers or anywhere you will be able to read anything.Even that Utd will make the top 4 this year or that Moyes knows what he is doing.

Nothing like that at all.Don't be surprised to see Demic with Garcia.

They were very organised in difficult circumstances, away from home, with ten men.

I'd fancy them against the bottom club, at home, with 11 men.

Doug with Dzeko not in the squad for Saturday, I assume he was one of the 2 players who got a minor injury on Wednesdays training?

No. Lescott went off with an injury,Negredo went down twice and Jovetic left the field half way through.I didn't think any were too bad and was totally unsure whether Jovetic had a problem or they just decided he shouldn't play anymore

God damn I miss these reports. The Official ones are good, but not really up to Douglas standards. I really appreciated your efforts.
