Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

defo GOAT not even a contest really. CB was a majestic player but not at this level.
Goal and assist stats dont tell the story.. only watching and the win stats tell you how influential this player is.
Just his presence on the pitch gives everyone else more space imo.
The way the ball sticks to his foot is like watching a fucling cartoon it so unreal.
City will likely try out some considerable amount of players to attempt to replace him. In the short term i can only imagine they will
just settle on two players doing his job instead.

KDB is instantly more effective with Big Dave on the park
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

And we used to have Barry, Yaya and Silva, which was also as good, although different.

I don't think we can ever think of replacing...it just evolves...changes.....Rags never replaced Best, we never replaced Franny Lee, Colin Bell, in the end it will all be a balance, not by actual design, but of ingredients...I don't imagine anyone knew when we signed Silva, the impact and legacy he would have, I am just grateful that we have seen in our team one of the true legends of the history of the Premier League, and a player who has never been afforded the accolades from outside the club that he truly deserves.
He can go on for a long time yet, thankfully, he is a player that relies on a football brain rather than pure pace, technical ability rather than physical strength, although he can give as he gets.....I think actually he is as his best right now

True this.
Wasn't long ago when Yaya was in his pomp we wondered how he would be replaced. The player wasn't or hasn't been. The dynamic of the team evolved and we are arguably a better side now than three or four years ago

Yes, the focal points have changed, we haven't got a player that echoes Yaya in his pomp, although KDB comes closest, but has totally different qualities. I don't think it is helpful to try and find an identifit for a player, right now we don't need a Yaya, but five years ago we surely did, and in the future someone of that style maybe just what we are looking for, to compliment those that we have at a certain point in time.

I think he is one of the best I ever saw. Him, Xavi and Iniesta - maybe the best Spain provided in the last 30 years.
Imho, he will still play really good for us in the next 4 years. Lucky enough, he doesn't need pace and speed for a free role that he should have. His passing skills will remain the same.
We really are lucky to be contemporary with him. For me he is the best playmaker the Premier League ever saw.

We have ALWAYS missed him more than any other player when he has not played. This has consistently been the case for many years now.
Cant say that about anyone else.

I've noticed that when KDB is receiving the ball his first instinct is to look for Daveed. If he isn't there then it takes a split second longer for him to size up the situation. He doesn't always pass to him but he is always at least the fallback option because of his ability to find space and control the ball.

They must absolutely love playing in the same side.
Both on exactly the same wavelength and can see things on the pitch no one else does.

I think he got a knock on the hip last time out. Not sure what a bandage around the body would achieve though, possibly it was something he went into the game with.

I think he just clashed hip on hip and it was painful and badly bruised. The physios tried putting a bandage around as some sort of protection but it just irritated DS and he ripped it off. I imagine he will be OK for Basle? Wouldn't be surprised if we rest him again this weekend, but I suppose it depends how painful it is. We need him 100% for the cup final.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45425893Vote here for him as best Spanish player ever in the PL
He's miles ahead of Xabi Alonso, De Gea, Torres and Fabragas as of now.

Voted for Dave.
Some on that list are a bit quixotic - Michu and Campo?

Dare I say he is simply irreplaceable.
We have a seriously different team now to before that FA Cup semi-final. Both in terms of personnel and in terms of 'getting' what Pep wants. The statistics are misleading just in those terms alone.
