I'd feel safer with John Lennon in nets.

And if you think Pep, having seen his side lose to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, should go back to Ederson for the final, he gets it.
“You can have an opinion, I am the manager. We are here for Claudio. He saved two lots of penalties. He deserves to play in the final. The locker room is more important than the final.”

Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Trawling back to my childhood, I believe it's a rounders reference.... The backstop, gotta love an Americanism in sport, a bit like the good old spot kick, deeeeeefense or offffffffense.

MEN says "Bravo has made a decision about his future", but it doesn't say what the decision is.
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk ... 319841.ampI wonder if he plans to stay or leave at the end of the season?
Regardless, Pep believes in Bravo and will play him on Sunday. Let's hope he puts in a top quality performance, he has obviously been a quality keeper in the past, he's captain of his national team. Let's give him proper support and win the cup.
The way Ederson comes tearing out of his penalty area, it's sometimes fine margins between getting the ball or striker. Bravo could well have to step in if Ederson is sent off, in the future.

Glad for him.
Glad for Pep.
Glad for Vinny.
I think this will galvanize the squad even more.

a long stop is midway between deep fine leg and deep third man - Tokyo Blue is 100% correct as usual

It all worked out well in the end.
He had 1 scary moment but made a couple of very good saves and provided an excellent assist for the first goal.
Plus he played a big part in our run to the final.
But I’m glad Ederson will be back on Thursday.

A backstop - or backer - was what kids called a wicket keeper when I were a lad (1960s Salford).

I'm pretty sure backstop is what we used to call the wicketkeeper in playground cricket when I was about 8.

Well we were all wrong guy did a good job may I remind he’s a City goalkeeper so stop whining about it like bitches. I moaned but the guy did well for us in part his keeping got us to the final and the confidence he’ll gain will help him if Ederson injures himself, just shows peps cleverer than us.
