That was 3-2 on 8 penalties each!

Not as shocking as the opening goal gifted to Inter. Talk about casual!

I often talk about the size of opposition teams against City youngsters but this Inter team were more like basketball players than footballers!! They were massive. The front 3 players looked 6 foot 3 or 4 at least. If ever there was a physical contest or a heading one there was only one winner.

Having said that they came with no real thought about attacking at all. Sat back often with a 6 man back line and just went for the one nil win( especially after the silly goal) or a draw as I reckoned they fancied themselves on pens.

Fair play to Grimshaw after the horror mistake. Never let it get to him and more than made up for the mistake in what must be the worst shoot out i have ever seen.

Diaz looked the most likely to get a winner but he just could get through the wall. He did wriggle through a few times but the final ball usually hit another defender as they had so many. He took a while to get into the game as did Foden but it was Foden's clever ball to Nmecha that won the penalty.

That shoot out was epic - how many misses? Must have said - 'that's it they've lost' at least 6 times

UEFA Youth League

Tottingham through 1-1 on penalties at home to Monaco and will be at home to Porto in the quarter finals.

Liverpool v United currently being played and Dippers are leading 1-0 after 22 mins. The winners will be away to us in the quarters on Wednesday, 14 March (3pm - will almost definitely be on BT Sport).

Dippers won 2-0 so they are the quarters opponents in Manchester. Winner at home to Barca or Atletico Madrid in the semis!

According to MUEN, Foden + Diaz not eligible for the gobby dippers match.

A rule of the competition forbids teams from using any players that have made three Champions League appearances, and the pair's minutes against Basel in the last-16 took them over the threshold. Lukas Nmecha is eligible for the game.

Spuds lost 0-2 at home to Porto so one non-spanglish team made it to the semis. Wouldn't mind playing Porto, reasonably well organised but nothing to be scared of.

Matondo a very direct run again straight through the meddle of their defence.
Poked the final shot and saved for a corner.

chances both ends. Could go either way.

Bit of a scramble in our box from a couple of corners.
we don't look overly comfortable in defence, but managing to clear it.

It's the least controlling of our, recent years, U19 teams, that I've seen.
We are mising Foden and Diaz I know, but the football brand is not as instantly recognisable as we would have come to expect.
This could go to penalties.
