It isn't about being a hard man at all Mase. This idiot has twice now aimed the ball , with full power at the head of a player on the floor. The player would have no chance to protect themselves. Caught on video twice with his snidey attacks. What sort of warped mind does this ?

Fortunately the second time, yesterday it was a typical bad shot from him and he missed the head of the player.

I don't like him either, but give the fella some break.
As Mase stated, he never said he was a hardman, but in this time and age you need players like this. Look at fucking Costa, a dirty bastard that was the reason why Chelsea won two titles. They shipped him and replaced him with soft cunts like Giroud and Morata and look how that turn out to be.
Costa kicked and hit more players that any forward I remember in the league. You know who hit him back when nobody was watching and kicked his head in? Fern. Also Fern is a dirty fucker that has snidey attacks, still I wouldn't replace him with anyone in the world.

Otamendi has his attics, no doubt, but in this day and age you need players like him. Ffs, the best player in the world is a world class diver, while the second best is a schizo with attitude.

was thinking the same thing as i watched the Argentina matches: this WC has made me really dislike Otamendi.
he also tried to be sneaky when blasting Pogba with water while he was down receiving treatment too.

wouldnt mind us shipping him out and bringing in someone like de Ligt

Exactly. Kicking the ball on a player on deck is almost equivalent of spitting in football code. You just don't do it.

Look, I like Otamendi but he has acted like a cunt and there's no way around it.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Usual rubbish from the commentators today. How dare they drop Iniesta? Disappointing for all those who have come to see him.

According to Mr Kilbane anyway

I must have watched a different game to them last time out as i thought he slowed the play enormously, which was very detrimental to Spains game.

Still, what do i know

I have been one of the biggest Iniesta fans over the past decade or so. Absolutely loved himin his prime. Probably my favourite player outside City. BUT he is DONE. He has just hit the stonewall. Way too slow now.

Kept giving the ball away, gave the goal away and the idiot commentators were still drooling all over him

The russians might have a chance in this. Spain doesn't look that good.

1-1 then. At a party with my lad so not seen it. Is it a fair result?

Spain have flattered to deceive last couple of games so is a shock on the cards, or have Russia got lucky

They do have now. Spain have looked poor for all their games. The ticka-tacka football is a little dated and with the older players not quite having the legs, they look half the team they once were.

Sort of. They haven't done much and when they did they got the penalty. Neither team that good though and we'll see if the ref will date to knock Spain out, if he gets the chance.

Must say Spain this half look devoid of ideas. Can’t recall the Russian goalie needing to do a great deal.

First penalty shootout?

Spaniards getting frutrated now. I can see Ruskis stealing this from counterattack.

Anyway, this is horrible game to watch.

Do we get extra time first?

Ohhhhh, that close.

Yes I think there is extra time. Russia look shot. I expect Spain to score soon. Before penalties anyway.

Few people understand how exhausting defending like that is.

Haven't seen any of this world cup mate, apart from the odd 10 mins here and there whilst messing on my phone, so I can't comment on anything he's done.

My comment was that I don't know why people call him a fake hardman. He's never claimed to be one.

Cheers mate, just confirmed by commentator.

Hope it's better than the shite they've served up so far!

Am I misremembering, but was it not boring with players scared to attack for fear of losing shape and conceding on the break? Must have been a reason to cancel it I suppose
