Refs 2018/2019

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Refs 2018/2019

Postby Dimples » Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:53 am

My biggest concern again this season is the potential influence from the authorities implemented via Refs decisions.
Am I the only one with this concern.
I remember Pep's first season and last season also!
There was a period around the NY were leg breaker tackles against us went unpunished.
My concern is that the PL is a product and to keep the money flowing a dominant Man City is bad for business.
Am I being paranoid?

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore:

"It doesn't take away from City's excellence, but we want the season to go to the last. I'd like someone to get a little bit closer to Manchester City."

Not an enormous leap from what Scudamore has said to doing something about it. Coupled with the refusal to allow VAR, the conclusion is quite straightforward.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

I have big concerns about the refereeing. We have had shocking decisions in major games and leg breakers go unpunished over the last few seasons now. Can’t see that suddenly changing now. And TB’s quote from the PL chief executive, Scudamore, is very telling.

Just hope we play like last season and make it irrelevant what they do.

Of course it's right to be concerned about the officiating for the season ahead.

Only a complete fuckwit would think all is well after the last 6 or 7 years in particular - right up until about 5 games in last season was disgraceful with the penos for, not given against, sending offs etc. Even after that, as mentioned, there was this weird run where we were fair game for leg breaking tackles and that went on for quite a while.

Let's face it, there's no way the standard of officiating is going to dramatically improve this season, so the best we can hope for is that we perform like the greatest team the premier league has ever seen... again. That's obviously not going to be easy, but it's easier than expecting help from officials. I don't want help from the officials and never will... which is probably just as well, because I can't ever see that assisting us in winning the league

oh 100%. Im King Plastic.

ive had enough of the refs being paid under the table to throw matches and purposefully attempt to cause City to drop points. its been gong on for the last 5 or so seasons and theres only so much a fake fan like me can take before he taps out. the corruption is rampant and its quite sad.

If winning the league by a measly 19 points isn't clear proof that we're being stitched up I can't help you mate.

i wouldnt say "Full". i get in maybe 10 matches per season and those are usually the ones against the bottom clubs so i can ensure i see a victory. although i do watch the derby because, even as a plastic, i have some self-respect.
