I can just about see why he would bring it back but, a yellow card? I wonder if he's already got the 2nd in mind.

Can't blame a bloke for wanting to take a free kick, but if the ref interprets it as unsporting the it's a yellow. Trouble is, there are countless acts of being unsporting in a game.

I don't think I've ever seen.that given as a yellow. The ref obviously took it as a slight on himself so brought his own emotion into the decision. Showing that emotion says to me that he's undercarriage bit of pressure, but why?

I reffed for many years and never gave it. A word for sure but nothing more.

Why would he tell him to wait for the whistle? He didn't give the Newcastle player a card or a talking to, and keV didn't ask him to measure out the distance to the wall.

30 goals in January so far, that's noot to be sniffed at.

The Fat Waiter has got Newcastle playing a compact game, any team would struggle against these and Rafa's mantra is all about conceding as little as possible. Goal difference and a possible humiliation is huge when your fighting against relegation.

Eh, they've barely been in our half and we're controlling the game. We haven't created a ton of chances but we're 1-0 up. Slightly better final ball and we'll get a few more. Not incredible but certainly not bad.

Newcastle are shite.
That 1st half performance would not win us points in hard games.

These cunts can score and I reckon they will , based on this half , so we need to score second half.

I do think if we get another we’ll get a hatful but it’s not going to be given to us.

They all look like they think they don’t need to be on top of it.

Everyone of them is at it.
Poor tempo. Poor sloppy passing.

Silva, Kev, Aguero. The lot.
Danilo and Walker are weak links.

I’ll cut Laporte and Fern some slack. None of the rest look comfortable though.

If we come out second half and tear at them for the first 15 they’ll fold. Hope Pep rips into them.

Can only beat the team in front of you are that's currently what we're doing. Cold away game vs a team fighting relegation doesn't exactly mean we should be scoring 3 before halftime.

Us being sloppy, heavy touch, miss controlling, poor passing etc has nothing to do with their manager.
Anyway hopefully we will improve 2nd half.

You've confirmed my point, mate, that it's always a talking to for going against the ref and taken again, yet why did he sjpgow a yellow?

Says to me that the cunt is under pressure from somewhere, which can't be good.

As difficult as it is, I think Sergio is not compatible with our system and his goals came only because he is world class. This season he was really slow, off pace in many moments, but somehow still managed to come out of the shadow in the big games.

For me, at the moment, Jesus has a momentum and we need to use that in our favour.

They've run their arses off infirst half to shut us down, and also they have been very quick to support the counter. Often having 3 on 3 up front.

2nd half they will tire, and if they continue to push up, there'll be gaps at the back for us to exploit.

There may be some sloppy play but some of that is down to Newcastle intercepting passes. That looks like Rafa's plan, especially in the final third, by getting close.

I wonder if they've grown the grass and forgot to water ;-)

And we need more of it.
Unfortunately it’s the only time Newcastle committed so many forward.
If they come at us we’ll kill them.
They’ll hang in as long as they can and try to nick one late.

Another goal will force them out early.

Razza has been awful. Needs to up his game. We look weak down the right side as Walker is similarly poor
