Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!
by Paul68 » Wed Mar 13, 2019 9:58 am
The draw for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be on Friday, March 15 in Nyon, Switzerland.
The scheduled start time is 11am
Teams from:
Manchester United
Liverpool or Bayern Munich
Manchester City
Lyon or Barcelona
Tottenham
Ajax
Porto
Juventus
Cynic in me says anyone want to bet against if the dippers get through we draw them?
I wish there was a way to know you are in the good old days....before you've actually left them...

Spurs or Porto please.
Don't want Ajax, shades of Monaco from them.
Don't want the rags or dippers because the media circus would be insufferable.

I think we are getting Filth.
Had this feeling since the ref gaved them that penalty.

Porto would be everyone's choice I think.
I'd take the winners of Bayern/Liverpool over United and Spurs. We'd have to play the later three times in a few weeks and there's too much to lose in the league for teams learning to cancel us out as good teams do if they play each other regularly.
Bayern couldn't handle our pace and I think we'd beat Liverpool. If it is the dippers they won't have an advantage in the league like they would if they got Porto. It would be nice to land a psychological blow on them again.

Not really arsed who we get to be truthful. We can beat anyone over the two legs if we are on our game.

Agree, we starting to look like a European powerhouse. As long as we dont show too much respect the opposition, I dont see why we can't reach the final or at least the semis

I'd go for Juventus. Giving them a good kicking would certainly be a boost for the rest of the season, plus I'd love to see Tranny getting his usual CoMS treatment, and maybe a bit of tough treatment from our back 4 + Fernandinho.

i feel a Juve draw in the pit of my stomach. Going against that defense wouldn't be fun.

If we get Juvenile, what are the chances of getting Stephen Jordan back to mark Tranny. Loved his derby escapade that wound him up

Or Michael Ball to stamp on him again, just harder this time.

Whoever it is we have to beat UEFAs ref first.
Hope it's not Juve. Beating a combination of them and UEFA would near on impossible.

We'll beat any team over two legs, any of them. No worries here from me and I think we'll go on and win the competition. We're that good.

The obvious answer for me is Bayern as it would mean the murdering scouse bastards are out of the competition and it will really piss the self labelled English royalty of Europe off that they are the only English club not still in it.

Its not a matter of how good we are though is it?
There's a little more to it than that.

Liverpool is a double edge sword for me. I we get them and beat them, I feel that we would deflate them and that they would struggle (even more) to catch us in the league. But the other way around also applies - if they would manage to beat us, that would be a huge boost for them in their league campaign as well.
Personally I hope for Ajax. I only live 30 minutes from their stadium, but imagine tickets would be extremely difficult to come by.

I hope the dippers get beat 10-0 today. Ajax would be a good matchup for us. They overachieved vs a chaotic Real Madrid and shouldn't be that hard for Pep to deal with

I was going to mention that when I wrote my post, but dismissed it. They won't cheat us out of it this time.

On our day yes, we are better than most and at least a match for the best but too often, in big cl games, we put in unprofessional performances.
