Third best conversion rate in the league. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the Rags are in 6th...
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier ... bewerb/GB1If we'd have had the same conversion rate as Arsenal, we'd have scored another 8 goals, and if we'd matched Liverpool, we'd have scored another 7. It's interesting that Wolves and Chelsea have conversion rates much lower than their league position, while Burnley and Watford have much higher.

We didn't create an awful lot, apart from the pen I can't recall a decent chance we had.
That is what I was referring to. Need Aguero to step down from penalties next season.

I think we need to try and get Mbappe in - if we want to get the CL he is the sort of player we need

Correct, but the reason we dropped points wasn't only the finishing. VAR has a lot to answer for - and we're only 2 games in!

was it the defending then?
spurs had 2 real attempts non goal and scored from them both...

It's all of the above. It's hard to deny that VAR robbed us of 2 points, the defending for both goals was shocking ( keeping on one too) and there were at least three excellent chances missed that should've put the game to bed well before the VAR cunt shafted us.

We had 30 shots, Spurs had 3, and the match finished 2-2.
Our finishing was abysmal yesterday. It’s the main reason we didn’t win.

Pep's tactics were nearly flawless. Kane was reduced to a 60 yard effort on goal. They created nothing and had no time on the ball. When they had the ball, we were aggressive in the tackle in winning it back.
Going forward, we were near perfect. We created numerous opportunities with the only problem our finishing. 6 or 7 players missed gilt edged opportunities. If this was a one off, you wouldn't be too bothered as you could just put it down to an off day but this type of thing happens to us too often during a season which is why we need to work on it.

The fact we had the best conversion rate in both the CL & PL last season says finishing is not the main problem. Other teams would love to score as often as we do. Yesterday we scored 3 good goals and conceded 2. Without VAR this conversation wouldn't be taking place. Other factors are in play - you can't blame our finishing for any points we drop.

Finally caught up with MOTD. Our xG was 3, Spuds was 0.22. So we hit 67% of our expected goals Spurs hit nearly 1000%. Shit happens. Without the bullshit VAR call we win 3-2 and this conversation never happens. You can't blame our finishing on every dropped point......
