Nevertheless. To VAR or to not VAR . i am quite sure that Pep will be drilling the players to be more consistent in front of the goal. ( See how i avoided talking about missed chances ? ... i'll get my coat).

I see IFAB have told the premier league to stop making their own rules regarding VAR.

Would like to see that myself.
At the moment it looks like it's being used to enhance the PL brand by giving those who need to challenge an unfair advantage. We all know that the Rags and Dippers will have lapped that up and tuned into the 24 hour Sky/BT Sports News reports of how we were cheated. You could even say that in the big scheme of things that Wolves have copped for the same as well with a lot of experts saying they have a chance to challenge for top 4. They've had a similar handball incident, VAR tried in vain to cancel out their goal against the Rags and the very soft penalty that Pogba was awarded.
While these things keep the Rag hordes happy nothing will change.
What we've realised over the past couple of games is that even if VAR was utilised to the letter of the law we would probably be the worst to gain anything. We always try to break the line with fast moving, technical football and with them choosing which frame to show us offside, not using a margin for error, it will mean that there is more chance to chalk off the goal.
As for penalty shouts and freekick calls, well, it's there for all to see.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Just seen this - I saw it on Newsnow...basically they wanted the FA to implement the rulings as they do in Europe instead of ignoring some basics (Goal keepers one foot on the line was one of them I think)
Our FA do what they want in some of the rulings.

That one is absolutely disgraceful. They use the defenders knee when his shoulder is further back and the dotted line is not even touching Ronaldo.
Andy Gray had proven the Sterling one was incorrect. There was 3 frames where the ball was stuck to Silva's foot when he was making the passing move. The rules state that VAR should have used the first frame, which showed Sterling onside. They used the last, where his armpit was off.
I do hope the pl are going to be brought in line with the cl rules. There is no point in English clubs having 2 var systems to get used to. It would be a severe disadvantage

Why are they using the attackers arm as the furthest point forward, when you can score with your arm?!!!

Can you imagine the outcry from fans if we are denied a handball penalty after last weeks joke decision against spuds ?

Traditionally, the Rags have always got the benefit of the doubt (and then some more)
Yesterday they had a stonewall penalty not given and another strong appeal turned down.
Decisions like this make VAR a joke at best (and a results facilitator at worst).
I will not pass judgement on VAR until we see how the critical calls go when the Dippers are playing.
And there will be plenty of those to be made.
The Dippers are going to be in tight matches particularly away from home.
They have a really tough schedule through XMAS and have no depth in their key areas.
They play on the edge when attacking and defending - lets see how those calls go (or if there is even a call made!)

Shoulder
Can you score with your shoulder still? I thought they'd changed it to the whole arm?

Ok, this is not VAR, this is not the same as Spain, Germany or even Italy. This is corruption on prime time.

Seems a bit bent . Some saying he stood on Silva's foot but not intentionally, still means it is a foul and therefore a penalty.
