Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

After everyone else has got their own threads, I think a thread devoted to our littlest superstar is in order. I am SO glad that the formation has allowed him to keep his spot and hasn't he just taken the opportunity and run with it. Genuine and loves City, always exciting to watch and will run through a brick wall for the shirt.

He has been super the last three games and looks back to his best. No better right sided player in the country when he plays like this IMO. On talk sport yesterday that said with dunnie going the heart and soul of city was gone. Totally bollocks as swp is as much mr city as dunnie again IMO.

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Some of his football 1st half was headless but 2nd half he played with much more thought & looked every inch a top class Champ's Lg final standard player. Wouldn't have looked out of place in Barca's team 2nd half.

Runs himself into the ground and you know that even if he has an off day he's going to put in a hard shift!
The goal last night was impeccable and I just new as soon as he got into that possition that he was going to score it - So unlucky not to have had two!
His defensive quaulities are often over looked too, like a bloody Jack Russle sometimes! :-)
Still think he excels more as a Right winger but he hasn't let himself down yet.

Thought he looked off his game before his goal, then his confidence seemed to lift after it and he was on fucking fire.

Key word Bingo is confidence! You see the difference when everything goes against teams and morale is low!
Good players don't become bad ones overnight!
Players mental attitudes affect the whole team and with it being early season no ones assured of a starting place in the team.
The fact that Shaun stayed around for the second half spoke volumes for him and the managers faith in him and assured him that although he had a shaky first half hughes kept faith with him and the real SWP was unveiled in the second half.
We're in a great position right now and for those who judge a player on their last game and worse still don't have the forsight to understand that any sucess we acheive this season must be based around a squad and not a team I can only advocate patience!
I'm not and have never been Hughes greatest supporter but I can't fault the initial signs we see of how he's managing the squad!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy!
