We are going to have to replace both of these CBs anyway. Stones cannot stay fit to get a run of games and Otter should make way for Garcia. That said, I think we will see Fern given another 12 months and remain at CB and us look to buy an additional CB

I saw something online—take that for what you will—that the club are worried about Garcia as a long-term CB at the club because of the physicality of the league. He's so diminutive that he might not be fit for the premier league. Small players (like our two Silvas) are fine in midfield or even like Sergio up top but at CB in the PL? i dont know.

Looked amazing to me for his age at CB physically - and we have run with Otamendi and Fernandinho for variable amounts so I doubt they are bothered to be honest

I reckon Fern is there for the next couple of years now. I think it'll be Laporte and Fern as the main CB partnership as soon as Laporte is back playing with Garcia getting more and more minutes as a main back up next season. I can see Otto and Stones both going in the summer and a new guy brought in.
