It’s clear he’s needed a break for a long time now. We know how good Sterling can be but he’s way below his standards at the moment.
His form is not improving yet he’s pretty much undroppable in Pep’s eyes.
We have plenty of good options in the squad. Rest Sterling for 4-5 games and utilise Mahrez, Bernardo and Foden, along with KDB for the attacking positions.
Then ease Sterling back into the team slowly.

i would play him this weekend. Will likely be a weakened Fulham side concentrating on getting promotion could be a chance to get something to come off for him and get a bit of confidence back.

He really needs a shrink. How can our staff ignore this?
It's not his form, he went to shit after that incident with that cunt Gomez and it is not the very first time he suffered from this. His state of mind is really poor and let's a lot of circumstances affect his career.
It's not to blame, but he needs support.
I think there are characters that cannot be broken no matter what happens around them, but there are also footballers that have real issues. The one that comes in mind is Robert Enke and what end he had or even Garry Speed.
The thing is, football life is hard and players need support
Just a few months ago, an ex-romanian player, decent one, not exceptional, came out on a radio station and said that he will replace Valverde at Barcelona. No joke, serious. Then people scrolled his Facebook account. It was bonkers.
A long shot, of course, but I think Raheem needs all the support he can get.

nothing to do with gomez. all to do with being traumatised by john stones’s antics at his birthday party

I've always been a huge supporter of Raza.
But enough is enough. Get rid in the summer. He's not got the mentality to be at the top.

He can take the same boat as Otto to Spain .
I tell you , Otto didn't like being put in the window for sale last summer , he's doing his best to fcuk up this season.
If he did that in my team , he would have been pulled from the game before the free kick paint was sprayed. Feckin scandalous what he did there at the end.
Transfer window is still open , get rid.

Yes he was poor tonight and for a while now. But sell him now, really?
As for otter I would indeed lend him a suitcase or two.

Sterling needs to be benched beyond doubt. However, form is temporary class is permanent. No way should sell him. Mahrez was poor tonight as well.

But which is Sterling. His bad spells are longer than his one good spell. We should have got rid last summer when some mug would have paid over the odds for him. With his new undeserved contract stance, he has to go this summer

Just for clarity, when was his one good spell?
As has been said, he needs dropping, needs to earn his place back, trying to play him back into form is not working and the team is suffering as a result.
Ideal opportunity to give Jesus some valuable minutes with Aguero on the pitch.

If this forum does one thing well, it's overreacting.

Especially as he is English, we still need to watch the composition of our squad. I do think he should be given a break though, sit out the next two games, then the winter break, and come back at the end of Feb, injuries permitting.

We already have 2 players in the squad who are better than him (Sane and Mahrez) but they have been treated like shit by Pep, one wants to leave and I wouldn't be surprised if the other does soon too. Pep has pulled both and dropped both due to form but sterling has never suffered the same even when his performances have been worse.
Sterling has never turned up against the big teams in big games. He has only prospered when we are in flying form and setting up goals for fun. He gets tap ins due to the skill of the likes of sane Silva and kdb.
Look at the villa game recently. Mahrez broke the deadlock with a bit of skill through a stubborn defence. Sterling would not be capable of doing that in good or bad form. That brace from Mahrez settled the game early on. If Sterling had played that game, we would have struggled. The final will tell alot if Pep doesn't cop on

Not true, his goals have been the difference in plenty of games in the two seasons prior to this one.
Even this season, despite his horrendous form the last few months, some of his goals have been crucial in tight games.
