Are we a meek club?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Are we a meek club?

Postby trueblue64 » Fri Feb 07, 2020 7:42 pm

I say this because we never seem to fight our corner, or so it would appear. This is from the boardroom down, every man and his dog throw shit at us and we seem to ignore it. It makes my blood boil.
There's only one mancity and one mancityfans.net

Born blue, still a blue and will die a blue...........

I’d have the security growling at the media cunts as they walked in the stadium and the waitresses doing slicing motions across their necks in the media lounge. Then, anybody who dared to cross us would be taken down to the depths of the Etihad to be water boarded before electo-therapy.

Snowflake ❄️ club

Let’s just see the season out and stop moaning. League is a disaster. Have all the cups to play for and they deserve full focus, plenty to play for still.

We’ve seen some really shit times, decades of it and fans are acting like spoilt brats now.

It depends on how you put it.
Football aside, I think we were soft even in the past years when we won everything. The bad media we have is incredible.

My 2 cents, we are to soft around these wolves.
We need some good press and that comes with some money there.

I don’t think it’s out of order for fans to want to see us win. The mentality of “oh well, we used to be shit so let’s just enjoy what we can” is what will stop us from ever becoming an elite club. We’ve spent billions since then so expectations are higher.

I personally think the fans that have the attitude of not being bothered if we lose because we were shit once are terrible fans.

Pep gets spikey with certain wankers in the Q&A. But as a club yes we have nothing to lose giving it back the softly softly has not worked.

I’m not sure he’s saying that fans aren’t bothered, that’d be a ridiculous statement, I think it’s more of we as fans cannot help what happens on the pitch apart from supporting the team, and when we lose our prior experiences give us a sense of perspective.

This season has been a slump compared to what we have achieved but for the media to say it has been a disaster (heard that last night) is very much wide of the mark. We’ve been attacked from all areas using any angle to rubbish both the club and fans. It’s been open season on all and sundry and it’s down to all of us to fight our corner.

Interestingly, the big attacks on the club have mellowed a little and I’m unsure why. Is it because we aren’t at the top or is it because we are doing things in the background to subdue their attacks?

When I was on the tour of the stadium about 7 years ago it was brought up by someone why the club let the media get away with everything. At the time they were digging us out for not having youth team players in the squad. The tour guide said the owners have purposely made everyone aware they should ignore what’s said in the media and not respond.

Yes, like fucking cows for slaughter.

I am all for having kid gloves but only with people who deserve it. And the media turds certainly don't deserve a soft touch.

Huge huge error if that's true. The battle for media perception is huge. Particularly when a large number of members of public are thick as fuck and will lap up anything the coporate media feeds them. It's for this reason that a lot of "neutral" fans think that FFP will bring a level playing field and we are seen as villains because uefa changed the rules to make sure we failed ffp back in 2014.
