His form has to come back at some point, but if he’s not playing it never will....catch 22 at its best.

He will be given a new extension to his contract this summer..currently he earns 300 k ? and will soon earn 350 to 400.
Baldie plays him week in and week out no matter how shit hes playing and some folk on here will not say a slagging bad word towards our manager due to what he won domestically !!...posters even saying he can do what ever he wants ffs !!!!

Fucking madness to give a huge pay rise for a player who has been utter turd for months now (His missed goal today was as disgusting a miss as you will ever see)

Yes I agree but how do you manage him to get him back to his best. Benching him presumably isn’t going to do it.

You can and should drop any player who isn't performing mate, he goes into the reserves until he starts fuckign performing again....that's how you should manage - Baldie plays him week in and week out and hes shite all the time..today's open goal miss and constant losing the ball..OMG !

My theory is he plays him every game to get him to sign an extension to his contract this summer..he doesn't want to piss him off....he would rather just piss off 10,s of thousands of City fans instead.

Why does the bottler deserve a new contract ?

Many years left and paid more than twice legends.

He would never live in spain. Too much of a bottler. Just like to play the club.

From 2010/11 when we won the Fa Cup through to 15/16 Pellers last season as has been pointed out we won 2 Premier Leagues, 1 Fa Cup and 2 League Cups, that's in 6 seasons- 5 major trophies and we were in 3 Community Shields of which we won 1, got battered by Arsenal in 1 and most embarrassingly lost to the rags after being 2-0 up in the last minute from our corner.

In Pep's not quite 4 seasons after taking over a team that got 60 odd points and made the Champs League on goal difference we've already won 6 major trophies and won both Community Shields with him.

Yep we might win trophies without him but nowhere near as many.

Gundo seems to be one of our consistently better players in big games. Kind of like Kolarov was.

Like I said in the match thread, I honestly reckon Pep played Foden out of position today in order to justify his non-selection of youth. I don't know what's going on with him, but it seems to be a case of fiddling while Rome burns, in the league at least...

Oh for fuck sake!

Pep got it wrong, no question but really? Purposely playing Foden out of position to make a point?

Pep is one crazy puppy. Makes eccentric errors, gets things wrong, gets a hell of a lot right. Plays the game in the best way. I would still have him over and above all other managers in the league, and in europe.

Come on mate. You know full well how arrogant he is. We could all see Foden needed to be moved more central after the first 20 mins. If we can see it why can’t the worlds best manager?

Looking at the league table, the answer for this season is glaringly obvious.
IF we dont win the chumps league this season regardless of whether we win the FA Cup, then overall for the season he will not have done enough to justify being the best paid manager on the planet. We need him to be straight with us regarding the future, there is no point in giving him millions of pounds to spunk if he doesn't want to stick around.

I'd like him to be up for the rebuild task but I have the feeling that he doesn't fancy it

I don't know, perhaps felt he had more control in the centre with Bernardo, Foden is more direct so more of a risk maybe.

I know it's nothing to do with proving a point. Fucking crackpot theory.

FIBD - when Nacho missed a chance the other season Pep turned around to the directors box and dramatically pointed at the miss as if to say “that’s why he doesn’t start” almost gloating. He has it in him.

This is a pointless thread, he's fucked up yesterday and hurts losing to those gloating cunts across the road. If he wins three cups this season this will all be forgotten. Let's just get to the end of the season then reassess. I think he's written off the league and focusing on cup competition, to us it means a lot, to him it's another game and didn't want to gamble with our best players. For my sanity I'm trying to see the bigger picture although losing to those toads 3 times in a season is hard to stomach.

Out of interest, what is your theory on why he did that to the directors box?

I sit directly behind Pep's technical area 10 rows from the front and I've seen him make gestures when we miss all the time. Just like we do as fans.
My theory is he was probably letting them know that's why we need Jesus to replace him who is a year younger, has scored a shedload more goals, got loads more assists.
Let's face it he's hardly set the world alight at Leicester has he. Maybe Pep was showing again that he knows more than we do.

He's certainly made some odd choices with youth. I don't think he intentionally threw the game to prove a point at all, but I think that there's a possibility that he did this to prove a point, and it backfired.

On a totally unrelated note, how's the club doing that his brother has vested financial interests in, where a lot of our better young players have ended up on loan?

Well said

We've played four away games in four different competitions in 11 days

Champions league = won match
League cup = won match
FA cup = won match
League = lost match

Apart from pride yesterday was essentially a dead rubber in the scheme of things

He wants all the big guns fighting fit for the "real" game next week.
