He genuine looked like a nice guy. Always valued his nice words about the WC90 game when Ireland went to the quarter finals instead of Romania. He really did some magic stuff with that national team.
Always had a soft spot for that great Leeds team of the late 60s/early 70s. Back when football was a proper game. This is a nice tribute from the Leeds twitter page
I remember going to Leeds away late sixties, cup match I think, we were in an open end behind the goal, Leeds got a corner and big Jack came up for it, all the City fans started chanting “big daft Jack” he was pissing himself laughing. RIP Jack
