Now we are post game and have had time to think - It’s early days, but the signs were there yesterday that have got fans like me thinking, “Hmm… maybe, just maybe, he’s starting to shift his mindset from his boring pass pass game to what we have recently seen”
Let’s see how it plays out.

I think he played a few games with everyone thinking we were doing the same as last season but with a fitter squad. Then when everyone is settled and too late to copy him, he unleashes Doku in a more central role and no-one is dealing with it.

We're not dominant, we're still trying to work out how to play together, we'll lose games against organised teams like Villa where we revert to type to try and pass/probe our way through, like in the past, we'll beat teams who are wide open and up for a tear up.

In the space of 2 games with Villa and Liverpool, we've seen the best and the worst of City, and what we likely have is somewhere in between, which I think we can all get behind as it's very clear that there's a different underlying approach.

I worry we'll be a bit lightweight with Foden, Cherki, Reindeers and Nico as a spine, and it's not going to be right in a lot of games for all of them to play together, but there's some potential there given Rodri and Kova are still to come back - I'm not massively hopeful of Doku maintaining the form of the Liverpool game though, he tore Trent a new one last year too, then went back to type....but if we can have Doku on form and Haaland being Haaland, teams really have some problems to think about.

Club have done well with the signings (would still love some fullbacks), and Guardiola/coaches have done well getting the club into a new groove, there will be bumps in the road, but this season is shaping up to be very exciting.

What would work after an impressive win versus scouse? Two consecutive brainfarts.

He will never learn.

Cherki ?? Seen nothing and I mean nothing from him yet. Savinho is absolute garbage. Bobb is playing with no confidence and there was no bite tonight at all. No pace, no skill, no desire and fair play Leverkusen played exactly like every team that has beaten us for the last two years, sat back defended a very lethargic build up and caught us on the break, exactly the same recipe and the same outcome as always in what was a very important game. There were some small glimmers of hope in some of the games that Pep was changing but no, tonight is entirely on him for his selections, his tactics and his ability inspire a performance from his players. The most worrying thing is Haaland always seems to go through a few games every season where he can’t hit a barn door with a banjo and I think he’s in one now. So many players had a real chance to perform and impress and nobody took it. Very, very disappointing and now with an away tie in Madrid we will be struggling to make the top eight.

Fucking about with the line up with wholesale changes. Thinks he is infallible, it needs the players the call it out. Stupid decision and it cost us. Fucking ridiculous

Marmoush isn't out of form, he's been injured then hardly been given any time since he returned.

I would have rejoiced learning that Pep was was to extend up until 18 months ago, he has now expired, it’s just not good enough and hasn’t been for a long time now. Time to go, thanks for the extraordinary 10 years, your taxi awaits. Vinny time.

When he was in Germany, maybe.
Truth is he's not a striker, and we have too many who are not fitting in, and just not good enough, the right flank of the team is a particular shambles.

His work rate is decent, and apparently he’s this wonderful gifted player. The sum total is a deflected goal in a game already won against a struggling Swansea side. I hope we see it but it ain’t happened yet, not from what I’ve seen anyway and I’ve watched every minute of every game.

4 goals in 12 matches, only 4 starts. Remind me again, how long did it take David Silva to settle down when he joined us? People wrote him off and deemed him too soft for premier league. People wanted Roderi shafted after one season. I'd say Chekri has done better than these two thus far.

In my own stupidity, I was thinking he might change, we were finally on track, played excellent versus the murdering scouse, but how deluded I was.

Even if we win the treble this season, I want him to go. I am tired to guess which one will turn up next game, the genius or the insane one.

I have been behind Pep until last night. If he has not learnt from that he never will. Perhaps he did by making changes at half time. All the players are good on the ball/passing but slow and so boring to watch. Play the best team or near best, speed up and play to our strengths. Just sell Sav, forget 70 mil just get rid get our money back. Bobb and Lewis should go. Get Halland back up. Other teams attack with pace, cross score, simple. We pass, pass, backwards, pass and all slow. Just lets the opposition reset. Oh and to think we used to have Mahrez out left.

Mahrez always played on the right.

It's the same mistakes from Pep that keep happening. Messing about with the team too much, I know we played the same 11 in 3 PL games in a row recently but that was the only time we've shown a semblance of form this season. His insistence on playing some players, Savinho etc, when everyone can see he's useless. Poor and late substitutions as if he's going to prove that his decision is right and he knows best despite the evidence suggesting otherwise. Grateful for everything he has done for the club but to be honest I wouldn't be bothered if he left today.
