What a player we have on our hands here!
PrezIke wrote:As for Gundo I think he did deserve criticism for last season as I dished it out to he, Stones and Bernardo who all had lost faith in or were very close to.
Gundo was a bit different in that he was criticised when I saw him do pretty well, because some of what he does goes with less notice, but last season those things also declined quite a bit, buildup, keeping possession and his assists and goals had all but dried up. I was wondering if the injuries and age were finally catching up.
But I also suspect because he's not typically an emotional player and is so calm and "nice" that this rubs off poorly on the "louder" fans who love their Zabba, De Jong, Mancini or Mad Mario.
Firey characters on and off the pitch who are all in and appear to want to die and are aware of these fans' interests. Gundo is a quieter type and not like that so he will also be easier to go after by that group if things don't go well.
Bernardo got a bit of a pass because he showed himself to dive into the club with the trip to the pub during Centurions and the Liverpool guard of honour drink event all help his reputation.
Stones didn't play so much where as Gundo played so often and that is what riled up fans who also wanted a "true blue" like Foden to develop and felt like he was an annoying obstacle.
But times sure have changed and if we win the league due to these players' turn arounds it would be a great story and bring joy to us all regardless.

Not by all.
Instant reaction during a City game has to be expected, it’s just the way a lot of Blues are wired.
Not really the case. They both were given loads of shit, and not only in the match thread. Conversely, Sterling was revered not so long ago.
