Wouldn't worry about new manager syndrome. It seems to have escaped everyones notice that Chelsea have a replay against Brum, which if they win means our game will be postponed, probably until just before the United game.

That will be a big week, lets hope Di Matteo hasn't got their arses into gear by then, although I would still fancy us to beat them at home.

Problem is that Wolves play United the day we should be playing Chelsea - if they win that one, we will be a point behind until the rags drop points which will have the media in a total wank fest

I fancy Mark Hughes to get the job if QPR stay up.

I think Capello eyes the Inter job or maybe a return to Roma if Luis Enrique loses his job
Rafa would be the worst mistake they ever make
Why would Pep go to Chelsea? I think he'd rather wait for the Arsenal job if he was coming to England as they've created a similar culture
Think Mourinho is waiting for Taggart to die!

That will give us a nice little boost when we overtake them.

Everything has fallen into the rags' lap so far this season. Every little advantage they can possibly have, from fixtures to dodgy refs, & the current Chelsea & Arsenal situation is a prime example. Tbf, rags played one of their rare good games at Arsenal but in the end Wenger actually helped Utd win & Arsenal were a shambles. If they played it on Saturday though, Arsenal would probably batter them. If Chelsea suddenly turn into a well oiled machine after out playing the rags twice & fucking up, it would be no surprise.

The Arsenal game is the one for me though. If we do our job, (barring dodgy reffing), ALL of our games are ones which should be bankers for potential champions, barring the rags, Chelsea & Arsenal games. If we go to Swansea, Wolves, Norwich etc & can't win, we don't deserve to be champions, (neither do the rags, but that's not the point) & that goes for Newcastle too; sure they could cause us problems at the back, but our attack should be able to arse rape them if we're on our game.

Going to the Emirates however, is a difficult game for any team, it's just a matter of whether Arsenal or the Cheesemonkeys turn up on the day. If Arsenal turn up, a draw is a good result. If it's the Chessemonkeys, we win 5-0.

A point there is fine, provided we don't fuck up v any of the lower teams & we get something from the rags game. If we are still in pole position withtwo games to go, the rags may fuck up as they will be nervous about losing their title (whatever bullshit they say).

One thing though: GOAL DIFFERENCE. Imagine the rags need to beat Sunderland 8-0. The chances of Brown, OShea or both getting a red card after ten minutes would be very high.

We should go for the kill in every game now, even if we are five up; the rags then need an extra point.

Eight manager in nine years, is monsieur Platini still informed how Chelski is under control about his famous financial fair play's rules?

Fair point, but I say fine, let them. We came from a long way behind to beat Arsenal last year for third place, and did so in some style.

And what if they lose to Wolves?

The Chelsea manager job has to be the best in the world. Get 3 years wages, work one year. Your reputation isn't harmed because it's normal to be sacked, regardless of how you do.

I could seriously see Abramovich pulling the plug altogether soon. They had their chance at domination, expectations must have been that they would overtake United, win the league most years and win several Champions League Titles. They spent a shed load of money but didn't put enough into place to provide continuity. A complete overhaul is pretty much out of the question with FFP but without it how are Chelsea going to compete with the top two in Spain or get anywhere near the top two in the Prem?

You would hope that what City are doing on the academy side will see them set for life, the initial investment includes players who could be around for 10 years or more, they key will be to keep the squad rotating so that we don't end up with a core that all age at the same time but have too much power.

The signs are good. The Tevez situation sets a good precedent -no player is bigger than the club. Mancini can clearly manage his players well and is overseeing the development of structures that will be in place for years.

We seem to have learned from some of the mistakes that Chelsea have made at exactly the right time. We will make a few more a long the way but hopefully the decisions about managers will be a little less hysterical going forward!

What the whole chelsea situation proves beyond any shadow of a doubt is the importance of having a good manager in place.

I think Scolari and AVB were mistakes, but the biggest mistake was whatever happened last year with Wilkins & Ancelotti, as they seemed to have something special going there, won the double and set off like a house on fire the year after, then the wheels fell off as Wilkins left on the alleged grounds of cost cutting, then Roman spunks £13m to get AVB?

Even with Wilkins gone, dismissing Ancelotti was still a huge mistake which Chelsea could now pay for big time with the form Arsenal might just be coming into

It's a reasonable point but I reckon it would hurt anyone's pride to get the boot in any line of work.

For me, a great choice of manager (and one which I hope Chelsea never get) would be Frank Rikjaard.

There's a lot of talk about Pep Guardiola being brought in for next season, but Rikjaard was the man who laid the foundations for Barca and built a large part of their current team, as well as instilling that 'total footballing' philosophy throughout the Club.

If ever, heaven forfend, Bobby Manc were to leave us, then Rikjaard would be the only one I would want to replace him.

Rijkaard can be a manager that lost all his motivation. He went to Galatasaray & Saudi Arabia, after Barcelona without any results. In Turkey he was considered both a managerial and a financial mistake made by them, so i really have my doubts with him.
At a moment I really wanted him to be our manager, but now he doesn't look like the real deal.

Abramovich wants a team that dominates in Europe. So much so that he sacked Avram Grant for losing the CL final against the rags which was decided by the lottery of a penalty shootout. His problem is that with so much money, he's used to getting what he wants when he wants. Hence he chucks his toys out of the pram when things don't go his way.
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, it's just possible that you haven't really grasped the gravity of the situation.
