Us

In the Champions League? Can't be, we didn't get out of the Group Stages.

I'm still worried about that treble they're going for, hopefully they won't get past the next round and Chelsea knock them out of the FA Cup. I'd wish that they'd crash and burn in the league but I don't want to waste my final wish, the ref would just hand them the points.

Glad to see United, Celtic and Arse all dumped out as predicted back in December.

Whats the odds on the survivors of the group of death, Real and Dortmund, contesting the final? That q-f draw should see them both in to the last 4 so providing they avoid each other in the next draw its very possible.

Yes we were shite in the CL this year, but would any of the other English sides get out of the group we got dumped in? Nope. Two games with Real & Utd mustered a draw and a loss - similar to us really.

Tbh the rags were miles better than us v Real Madrid & genuinely scared them. On another day they would have won with a late goal in the Bernabau, & were pushing forward loooking for the winner there when the final whistle went. We got absolutely battered, grabbed a couple of goals, then got battered again. The rags played a great game over there & were unlucky in the home game.

They would have lined up with 2 banks of 4 v Dortmund, thus totally stopping them from breaking like they did ALL THE TIME v City, & then hit their slow cbs with counter attacks of their own, & probably battered the fuck out of them.

We were abject & had no sensible tactic v anybody in any game.

Plus we finished below, failed to beat and conceded five goals against a distinctly ordinary Ajax side. We were shit.

Yep, agreed we were totally toss. Personally Im glad we didnt finish 3rd and produce more awful european performaces in the Europa Lge.

However this issue is whether Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea would have finished above one or both of Real and Dortmund in the group stage. My contention is that they wouldnt.

Yes Utd did awfully well etc etc against Real, and achieved a draw and a loss over 2 games. And if your aunty had balls she'd be your uncle, and on another day they might have done this or that .. but they didnt did they? We could well have beaten Real at home, could/should have beaten Ajax at home but for us not getting the most blatant pen youve ever seen - but it didnt happen.

Cant wait for our CL draw next season - Bayern, Barca and Brazil circa 1970 is what Im expecting.

That's what we will get, because we have been shit two season's running. Had we been average, we would probably be in the pot above.

We were a pot 2 seed this year Ted, only just mind, so theres no way in the world we could have made it into pot 1.

We were a pot 3 seed in 2011 and actually got a better draw then, than we did as a pot 2 seed. In our 2 seasons in the CL the two teams in pot 4 in either draw to absolutely avoid were Napoli and Dortmund - and of course drew em both.

Getting a dodo side like Cluj as a 4 seed will help us for a start. We'll see.

We WERE shit this season in the CL. Without making anymore excuses for our poor showing the fact that Madrid and Dortmund are still going very strong and amongst the betting favourites to win it were in our group of death , but like i said we WERE shit this time around lol.

Dortmund were also shit last season in the CL under Klopp finishing bottom of there group which had Arsenal in it in think. All relevant stats for the stat geeks out there ;)

Oh and Dortmund are 2nd in the german league 20 points behind Munich.

Our seeding will improve again - in the rolling five year period that counts towards our seeding we drop a shit year with no 'success' and replace it with this season's group stage CL. Just qualifying for the CL should see us improve for a season or two more.

And not an especially good side imo. But a not especially good side won the Champions League last season & an especially good side was knocked out by a mediocre Napoli team, so you never know.

yep 20 points. Well it has been proven in courts around Germany that corruption has existed there for several years , with Refs being found guilty. It's due in England, no way is the PL clean.

Nevermind anything else, Probert's treatment of Edin last Saturday was definitely bent.
