Hart - 2 (any shot on target is likely to go in at the moment. A hermit has more confidence)

Richards - 3 (played 10 yards off Ribery, then when getting close later dived in and gave away daft free kicks)
Kompany - 5 (Average. Tried to stem the tide)
Nastasic - 3 (looks very poor at the moment. Another daft free kick given away right on the edge of the box. Got arse raped by Robben for 3rd goal)
Clichy - 3 (Battled hard but bizarre piece of defending for 2nd goal. Lost Muller totally)

Navas - 3 (Pace wise he got caught and tackled by Lahm. Never put in a telling cross, but managed to win a few corners. Looked lightweight - 90% of his crosses hit the fullbacks shins/arse/midriff)
Ya Ya - 3 (Anonymous for long periods. When playing in a 4 man midfield the sight of him ambling back in his own time really pisses me off)
Fernandinho - 3 (At £30m we look to have been dry bummed by Dick Turpin. OK midfielder but top class? Not on the evidence of his first 9 games at all. Gave ball away for 3rd goal, and lacked real penetration. Looks lead footed and limited in range of passing and vision)
Nasri - 2 (was he playing? Back to bad Nasri of last season. Lightweight and peripheral, and that's being kind)

Dzeko - 2 (Incredibly lightweight for a big man, poor first touch, needs 13 chances to score at the moment - against teams like Bayern he cant carve out any chances for himself)
Aguero - 3 (Disappears in European games too often. Grafted and chased but that isn't what he's there to do. Offered zero goal threat)

Subs
Negredo - 5 (Scored good goal, headed other chance wide, chased, and also dribbled the ball straight out of play twice like he forgot the touchline was there. A grafter and half decent striker, but top class?)
Milner - 5 (Decent cameo. Probably should have been on 40 minutes earlier than when he arrived. Remains as chronically underused by Pellegrini as he was by Mancini)
Silva - 5 (See Milner comment above in terms of when he should have been on. Looked comfy in possession and gave us a foothold, though notably only when Bayern were playing with a cigar on when the game had been decided)

Pellegrini - 1 (Selection of Richards ahead of Zabba poor, 4-4-2 formation naïve, not changing to 4-5-1 in first half was dereliction of duty, making subs when game had gone too late)

Agreed. He ran his bollocks off. 9km when he was subbed compared to the team average of under 8km. Can't fault that.

Yaya looked lazy/tired, Gelson Fernandinho inept.

The whole team couldn't keep possession under pressure & then was unable to press the opposition. Even if it was Bayern Munich (& they were very good, make no mistake), it was a diabolical performance.

Bit pointless giving marks for that game where we were totally outclassed technically, individually and tactically.

We were losing almost every ball in the air, every ball in tackles. They were moving the ball around midfield as if we only had mannequins and with such good touch and movement our players were getting dizzy.I remain stunned that Pellegrini didn't at least try to stop them. When we got the ball and they pressed hard and fast there didn't seem to be a way out so we played long and lost it by either being offside or plain soft.

When they had the ball and we tried to press we left gaping holes for them to play it out.I can't think of a player deserving even a 6 tonight but sadly I think Joe Hart needs a break. On his best form he might have stopped all 3 tonight and 2 for definite.

I thought Fernandinho was head and shoulders better than any other City player & it's a great pity he fucked up & got caught on the ball. It still shouldn't have ended in a goal though.

If the Count doesn't immediately learn from this & totally change our tactics v Bayern next time, he isn't going to learn, & should be sacked. I can accept us losing again, but I can't accept us not at least trying to adapt.

the thing is he hasnt showed signs that he is learning from his errors. he is not a young manager.
it was blatantly clear that the side needed changing from less than 15 mins into the game yet he persisted with an isolated and over run midfiled until about the 67th minute. this i cant get at all. why were the changes not made earlier? there has been too many blunders and cant see it changing short term. surely surely a man of his experience, or some of his staff can see these mistakes.

In the Premier League his 'errors' are mainly down to individuals not doing as they are supposed to & I recon his system will probably work eventually when they all start doing it.

Last night however, we played against 6 mids & no strikers, all camped in our half & all running & chasing. At one point, I saw Nasri turn round after tracking back 70 yards surrounded by Bayern players, to find Aguero Dzeko & Yaya still hadn't got over the halfway line to help & he was shouting at them & waving his arms as to where they were supposed to be.

Clearly, the front 2 are supposed to do the running in order for us to fit more strikers into the team, & clearly they are not going to do it, & clearly Yaya should be thought of as an attacking player in these kind of games, not a centre mid. He runs about, but he doesn't do it to any effect. Mancini never learned that in all the years of managing him.

Pep doesn't always play that way. He did so because he knows we are fucking dangerous. He sorted us out.

Now I want to see the Count realise the same about Bayern & take some action to counter them, like Pep has done with us.

If we do, I recon we will see a very different game. If we don't, he should probably retire.

They were shown on the telly when he was subbed. His was 8.9x while the team average was 7.7x or thereabouts, if I remember correctly. It was pretty obvious even without the stats tho. He looked fucked (off) compared to some others in the team.

Also, did anyone else spot Richards doing his jogging-back-casually routine? You'd think he'd at least bust a gut in the Champions League v Bayern fucking Munich.

Slightly related, that one time when Alaba walked into the penalty area uncontested while him & Navas just stood there, 10 yards off, was quite bizarre. It was just as bad as Clichy's howler.

Ah right, thanks. Yep, he seemed to be busting a gut to try get a foothold.

That was Navas letting Alaba go, don't know what he was thinking.
