So much depends on the FA Cup, win that and once again it is hard to dismiss him. But is that enough when we presumably want bigger things?

I don't actually give a flying toss about the FA Cup when it comes to judging the manager. I would love to win it of course, but with this squad I would expect any old manager to win the FA Cup here & there, so I won't judge Mancini either way on that.

Winning the title however was a huge achievement & I'm not sure that many managers could have done it so quickly. Therefore, I'm not convinced that many managers would be a consistent improvement on Bob, although for this season, I think Mel fucking Machin wold have been an improvement, as Bob has been utterly useless 90% of the time.

I would back Bob to get his shit together & deliver next season more than I would back most of his potential replacements though.

I have to add though that if Mourinho took over, I think we would get at least equal or better results, especially in Europe.

I have no football reason for not wanting Mourinho, he is a proven better manager than Bob so far.

I just don't want that circus of petty squabbling bullshit at our place, end of.

Have to admit even though I started this thread.. Mourinhos stats this season are worse than Mancinis in the league. Considering R Madrid are by far the 2nd best team in the spanish league and the big divide, its quite shocking.

(league only)

Mancini
P 26
W 15
D 8
L 3
F 48
A 24

Mourinho
P 23
W 14
D 4
L 5
F 58
A 22

Kind of tells me that if it wasnt for Ronaldo, as a team they'd not be doing too well.

We have had our share of embarrassing incidents & Bob can be a bit of a turd at times, but the stuff which happens around Mourinho has a raglike kind of evil nastiness about it which we don't.

He will continue to win stuff though. I made the mistake of calling him a spent force & overrated, on here when he went to Inter & he improved Bob's team hugely & again won the Champions League with a side nowhere near the best in the competition, thus forcing me to eat my words. Then he twatted the invincible Barca team.

The bloke is having a bad season but he is fucking good at his job, & is having to play a lot more open & cavallier as Real's manager than he would if it was upto him.

One of the key things for Mancini going forwards will be how much money we have to spend. His standard response to date has been to want more players to resolve problem areas. That may be his default style or it may be that he was working for a club with limitless resources, so why not ask.

If going forwards we are going to need to be more thrifty, then is Bob up to it? He's obviously happy spending big, but can he wheel and deal or spot bargains? Whilst Savic was a horror show I actually think Nastasic has the makings of a top quality centre half. I know he wasn't buttons, but he was a cheaper gamble that Bob was willing to take.

I honestly don't know what Bob is like at getting lesser players and improving them. Of the current squad, some have improved, some seem to have got worse, but it's different with older players with big egos than with kids or some player you've just picked up from Reading. If it's not something he'd want to do, then we may have to make a change regardless.

In all seriousness, it's a wierd one with JM this season. So far off the pace that even Atletico are above them. We think we've got a good squad of players but he's got a fantastic group there that should be beating the likes of Granada and certainly not drawing with the then bottom team of Espanyol. What's more mystifying is that he is the arm round the shoulder manager that every club he's at, love. When you have fall-outs with strong characters and the crowd are booing you before, during and after games then you know something is seriously wrong.

JM is currently one of the greats in the game and for things to go so wrong, so quickly, then it makes you wonder if he can pull it back.

On another note, I'd love Real to beat the Rags tomorrow in similar way to how they beat us; a fuck up at the back in the dying minutes.

In JM defence , RM is a political shit fest of a club where players virtually rule the club - the president never seems to back a manager over a top player, especially a Spanish player.
I reckon JM thought fuck it, especially after the player /Manager spats that went on and he knew the writting was on the wall. He seems to show little to no interest in lots of domestic games they have played since , or at least that seems to be how I perceive him to act.

He will be up for tomorrow match though....he better win or he can fuck off as well.!!!!

Think he's only interested in the CL and not the first manager to fall out with half the people at Madrid.

I'm actually hoping for a tight victory for Madrid tomorrow just to get the rags hopes up. Then a 7-0 win for Madrid in the second leg.
