Top 4's the only goal, so what do I care? Hey, i bought the shirt. I'm all good.
cheers
THIS is my argument with you. The idea that the young work-in-progress squad that got 89 points last season would somehow only be good enough for fourth, without additions, is preposterous. Slim - look here the post quoted above is the definition of melodramatic...
Points aren't an accumulating snapshot. We have to earn them again this year, you ballsack.
My point is valid. We need some signings.
Do you think your precious Mancini doesn't agree? Yr wrong. He's fuming. He wants some goddamn players. Why don't u?
Our competitors are improving. We have stood pat.
Therein...the fucking dilemma my friend. It's really really really complicated shit so i can understand why it's puzzling to you.
cheers

We don't know if they have moved forward at all! Most influential players leaving or yet another year older. Most of their signings will have to settle in the English game. That applies to all of our prospective rivals, while our YOUNG SIDE will only improve for another year together. Sure the perfectionist Mancini would like even more options, but even without signings we go into the season as favourites to pull clear of our rivals, not to be overtaken by them!
Socrates wrote:How have those teams improved please? Arse about to lose their top goalscorer. Scouse about to lose their best defender. Rags relying on aging players, a kid from Crewe and an Asian sensation unproven beyond the Bundesliga. Chelski, already lost their top goalscorer relying on aging core players and lots of new signings who will be unlikely to gel and still have an unstable owner.
How are we standing still when our young side will get better?

I'd like signings and I'm sure Mancini does too but we don't know that our rivals have strengthened.. for each argument that they have, there's one against - RvP (where would they have finished without his goals last season?), Scholes/Giggs, Drogba etc - at least we have the same, title-winning team, having gained another years experience and the confidence from what was achieved.
I want signings but I'm just not sure that we need them.

can we defend the title without doing so? who the fucl knows.
What i can get my head around is why you would even consider it's an option or interesting...
ONLY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE THAT HASNT SIGNED A PLAYER.
Who the fucl are we -- Everton?
come on Jon...surely you don't feel like it's in any way a positive thing that we've not gotten any business done. Yr just defending ridiculosity imho.

Sign up for Club Numpty then and get in line to get your cape and your magic wand and pleather boots so that you two superheroes can go save the world together.
What makes more sense:
Sign players to provide cover where we showed weaknesses last term OR
Hope a "young team" gel more and play better this season, after hauling in a fucking amazing 89 pts that we might be challenged to equal.
Seems logical to want the former from where i sit. But you just put on your tights and your batman costume and sit on Numpty Dumptys wall with him and cross your fingers that City will just get it done this season by acting like we're a tight red wine that just needs decanting.
cheers
