Agger and DeRossi is all we need really ... and Yaya to retire from internationals and Tevez to be fully 100% in mentally ... and well if we get a 100% from Balo too, we're good for the season!

It's not the 0 transfers IN, what's bugging me more is the 0 transfers OUT ... that half-arsed effort of shipping Bridge on loan to nowhere doesn't really count successful selling out ... I'd be very happy with 0 IN and can do without Agger/DeRossi as long as we cleanup the junk ... Ade, RSC and the rest of the frills ...

What on earth makes you think this???

I'd argue that a young team of world class talent will improve 10x more from playing and winning together, than from adding another great player to the squad. We are making huge improvements as a team, which is many times more important than adding another unit. Let the stew settle together, instead of instantly adding more spices. Exponential improvement vs linear

But if you read any of the replies to you, you would have already known this

I think we only need one player and it's not a massive bedding in if the rest of the squad are fit.

De Rossi is my only wish this window as its for places we need cover, other than that I'm happy as we are.

THIS is my argument with you. The idea that the young work-in-progress squad that got 89 points last season would somehow only be good enough for fourth, without additions, is preposterous. Slim - look here the post quoted above is the definition of melodramatic...

Points aren't an accumulating snapshot. We have to earn them again this year, you ballsack.

My point is valid. We need some signings.

Do you think your precious Mancini doesn't agree? Yr wrong. He's fuming. He wants some goddamn players. Why don't u?

Our competitors are improving. We have stood pat.

Therein...the fucking dilemma my friend. It's really really really complicated shit so i can understand why it's puzzling to you.

cheers

We don't know if they have moved forward at all! Most influential players leaving or yet another year older. Most of their signings will have to settle in the English game. That applies to all of our prospective rivals, while our YOUNG SIDE will only improve for another year together. Sure the perfectionist Mancini would like even more options, but even without signings we go into the season as favourites to pull clear of our rivals, not to be overtaken by them!

Which is it -- cuz you've positioned several viewpoints in the last month on some tangential element of this topic:

Amazed by 89 pts which were legendary (you've acted like i'm insane for suggesting that we could have gotten more, which we could have).
89 pts is almost like a floor from which the squad builds upon. All the other teams have to "catch up" to that points tally.

I don't see either angle of that as being realistic towards predicting what we'll do this coming season.

The reality is that all of Rags, Scouse, Arse and Chelsea have improved *on paper*....for a variety of reasons, and if you don't believe that's entirely possible then i suggest you aren't paying attention.

Will all of them actually improve? The table won't lie...

Mancini wants players. I want players. I never thought you'd be against us. Times have changed.

cheers

How have those teams improved please? Arse about to lose their top goalscorer. Scouse about to lose their best defender. Rags relying on aging players, a kid from Crewe and an Asian sensation unproven beyond the Bundesliga. Chelski, already lost their top goalscorer relying on aging core players and lots of new signings who will be unlikely to gel and still have an unstable owner.

How are we standing still when our young side will get better?

You know what? i"m wrong...we're not standing still....everyone's chasing us and we're leading the pack bro. Our competitors buying some of the most exciting young talent in Europe or England isn't really improving them....it's total desperation.

My bad....

cheers

p.s. i don't think i've ever argued so much with someone about such a basic fucking point in my life -- we NEED to buy a couple fucking players. You are just being a petulant douche trying to argue otherwise. Do we need to spend big money on those signings? Maybe not, but...we need a few.

Perhaps I'm a petulant douche too, but I think Soc's is making the most sense here and it's definitely not arguing for the sake of it!

I'd like signings and I'm sure Mancini does too but we don't know that our rivals have strengthened.. for each argument that they have, there's one against - RvP (where would they have finished without his goals last season?), Scholes/Giggs, Drogba etc - at least we have the same, title-winning team, having gained another years experience and the confidence from what was achieved.

I want signings but I'm just not sure that we need them.

can we defend the title without doing so? who the fucl knows.

What i can get my head around is why you would even consider it's an option or interesting...

ONLY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE THAT HASNT SIGNED A PLAYER.

Who the fucl are we -- Everton?

Sign up for Club Numpty then and get in line to get your cape and your magic wand and pleather boots so that you two superheroes can go save the world together.

What makes more sense:

Sign players to provide cover where we showed weaknesses last term OR
Hope a "young team" gel more and play better this season, after hauling in a fucking amazing 89 pts that we might be challenged to equal.

Seems logical to want the former from where i sit. But you just put on your tights and your batman costume and sit on Numpty Dumptys wall with him and cross your fingers that City will just get it done this season by acting like we're a tight red wine that just needs decanting.

This debate has no end ... I agree with both point of views (and can understand why people here are so passionate about getting their side across) ... thing is yes we are a better team than last season without any signing ... we have got Tevez in form and available for the full season, we have Balo matured another year and hopefully he'd have learnt something from last season ... just live Silva was so much better in his second season with us so will we see Aguero and Nasri improved this year ... and the biggest plus, all of them have had a great season of ups and downs together as a team and winning the league as a unit under the belt so hell yeah we are better than last season already ...

Now I also agree with the needing new signings theory. Yes United is better off with Kagawa and Powell and Chelsea with Hazard and Oscar and Arsenal with their signings BUT all of them needed signings for improving their core teams while we need players for cover, not the core starting XI ... All their new signings are going to draft straight into starting XIs while I seriously doubt whoever we sign will simply walk into our first team ...

Whatever the players say on the face of it when they welcome new signings on camera, every new player coming in unsettles the current squad because someone in there sees the incomer as his potential replacement ... so maybe no new players in is a blessing in disguise and helps the current squad gel together even further ... maybe Mancini knows it too, and you can't really believe what the press says about anything, can you? Hell cant even believe what Mancini says ... now he says RVP is not coming here, he also said we won't win the league last year now didn't he? So we'll see who or what comes or doesn't and how we start off this year but I have no doubt that even with the current squad we'd be stronger this year than last ...

The thing I remain pissed however about is our inability to ship the fringe players out ...

ONLY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE THAT DOESN'T NEED TO SIGN A PLAYER TO WIN IT. We already built our championship winning squad. You are just a transfer market junkie and a melodrama queen. Do you really not accept that this squad will be even better this season than last? I know you live in Dumbfuckistan but you really should know better.

As a long-term lurker, seldom poster, I used to look out for your posts.. always coherent and seldom boring - you've changed that in one thread. You seem petulant, nonsensical and just plain boring. You've failed to listen to a single word that Socrates has put to you and reply to me with some inane, in-clique drivel! Get a grep, 'douche'
