Bayern were always going to come out flying. But we kept our composure, especially when they fouled us so many times.

Only concern is at full back. Ake and Akanji both struggled tonight and Real Madrid would definitely target them. Ake has generally had a good season but I’m not sure Akanji should be starting ahead of Walker.

Though key thing is Pep sticks to our way of playing and doesn’t try any silly tactics.

But overall a great performance over 2 legs. The players and manager were excellent.

I thought Akanji played really well tonight, he got turned once, otherwise he was solid. They sacked us a few times in midfield in the first half, but second half we were quicker. Roll in the semi

Surely the Leeds match needs to be moved back a day otherwise there would be only two days between that match and the away leg in Madrid.

Well done lads. Soaked up a lot of pressure.

Thanks to agent Sane for the miss too.

Dias man of the match for me. Put his body on the line constantly and was blocking everything. Bernardo and Jack also brilliant.
Another perfect Kev/ Erling combo for the goal. Very good performance against a very good team.
Best refereeing performance I've seen is have in Europe as well

Ake confirms he's hamstrung - doesn't think it's as bad as his last one but that could be a serious problem - hope Laporte etc can somehow cope with Saka next week.

There were some moments when our tipy-tapy near our box was driving me insane, but overall was a good performance with a fair result.
Funny how luck seem to be with us this time, same like in the first leg, they miss a big one, we go on the break and score.

Stuff like this can win you this cup.

That Coman is a good player. Caused Ake all sorts of problems.

Walker has to start against Vinicius.

Walker marked him out of the game in Spain for 75 minutes or whatever it was.

Laporte was directly responsible for us losing to RM.........I have zero confidence in him ( and hes off in the summer )

roddysaint wrote:Overall a passable performance given the state of the tie, but we switched off after Haaland scored, and we cannot do that at all against Madrid no matter the score.

I think we were a bit sloppy and kept giving the ball away in bad areas. Conceded too many soft chances. We have to improve in that Madrid tie, or else they'll butcher us.

The latest briefing from his camp is that Laporte wants to stay to fight for his place. To blame Laporte exclusively for last years defeat against Real Madrid is completely unfair.

I would have wanted the first leg vs Madrid in our home, not away.
Beat them at home and let them chase after us in Madrid.

No way! That’s what happened last year and look what happened. I’d take a draw over there to be honest and then get them to COMS and we do them.

Bang on Mase. Home leg second means you know what you have to do. Of course a good result at the Bernabeu is needed. As you say 0-0 would be fine.
