There havent been such a talked about up and coming youngster in Sweden since Zlatan. The time with Feynoord are doing him a world of good. Being picked for the national side is just a matter of time i think.

I think he would relish the thought of coming back to city and have another go; Next season that is. Having another year loaned out wouldnt be a bad idea either.

Having him come through all the way, would be another success story to our brill academy

Bojinov looked really really good before we signed him.

He looked fantastic in the brief few minutes he got before his injury. Then looked nothing afterwards.

The thing that gives Guidetti a better chance than most is his attitude. He has that desire on the pitch which is straight out of the Paul Dickov (& yes Tevez) book. What he lacks in finesse he may make up for with sheer bloody mindedness. He has shown some fantastic technique too on occasions though; it's just that he has a clumsy/ungainly look about him, even when he's doing nothing wrong technically.

I remember that. Unfortunately he was also the definition of a injury prone player.

That is by definition Edin Dzeko!

I don't care though. As you can see from my username, I've always had soft spot for awkward looking strikers.

The Bojinov metaphor was raised as Guidetti too is developing quite a reputation as a City player, despite producing next to nothing in a City shirt. Granted he hasnt had much opportunity, but it will be interesting to see what Mancini does with him this summer.

Far better for us that Guidetti has gone away and raised his value and profile though.

Maybe he will get a chance, but Im not so sure that Guidetti himself fancies stepping back out of the limelight and towards the end of our bench as fourth or fifth in line to a striking shirt, behind Aguero, Balotelli and Dzeko.

We'll be challenging on four fronts next season though. There wil be injuries and suspensions and loss of form as always. He will get chances, even as supposed fourth striker. Don't understand what people mean by fifth striker by the way.

Well that's a good comparison, as I believe that if Dzeko had half of Guidetti's attitude he would be the best striker in the world.

That might be taking it a bit far Ted but I agree if he used his physical attributes more and had a real desire like Guidetti he would be one hell of a striker

By fifth striker it allows for the possibility of Mancini going out and signing another striker when Tevez eventually (please god) pisses off, which is distinctly possible given his man-crush on Cavani. That would leave Aguero, Balotelli, Dzeko and new striker (Cavani?).... and then Guidetti.

To be fair, if that'd be the case then I wouldn't blame him for fucking off.

That's a dilema that we are going to face regularly. We will have many youngsters who reach a stage in their development at which they are looking for first team action. The club are going to have to make some big decisions and as the standard and number of younger players at the club increases we will no doubt lose the odd gem.

Which is my point exactly!

Hence why I wouldnt expect Guidetti to play any starring roles for City anytime next season.

It's unlikely we'll sign another out & out striker without letting a couple go imo. If any two of Balotelli, Tevez & Dzeko were to leave, I think we'd sign a striker but if just one goes (ie Tevez) I think we'll spend the money on creative attackers rather than another goalscorer. It's more likely to be AJ & Nasri who have the extra competition than Guidetti imo.

It will depend imo on how Dzeko performs between now & May. If he does well & works hard, we will just add Guidetti for next season. If he's still not convincing, Bob will consider cashing him in whilst he is still worth plenty of money & bringing in a replacement.

I don't see us having 4 big money strikers on the books.

Sturridge apparently thinking of a move this summer, think we'll be in for him?

I think we will if Mancini is still here, after all he said the studge would start every game if he had not gone to Chelsea.

He is good no doubt but feel his personality is a mismatch, he seems a right miserable c-nut

Selfish cunt too. I dont blame him for believing in his own ability. But its a team game, and you need to know when to pass and when to shoot.

Sturridge only seems to want to shoot. I wonder what his shots/goals ratio is compared to our strikers.

There were some mysterious Strurridge apologist posts on here followed by Mancini talking him up, then rumours of Sturridge being 'unsettled'. I would say we are in for him.

To be fair, Sturridge would make massive sense for us as he'd count as club grown player in Euro comps.
