While not a mistake, I'd say there are better ideas. He has started many times with Yaya and then pushed him up later on... er usually after bringing Nige on. So he may do that.
I think slur will go all out from the start and try to knock us off balance and try get ahead before we settle and start to dominate. I'd rather have Nige for that. If Barry was only gonna get 60mins he could be told to run his arse off, Then we get fresh Yaya to use as required, controlling them or flying at them.
I also think he will have to sub two of the front 4, as I think that the key to fucking the rags up is pressing their dm's, which means the front 4 will have to work hard. Tevez should be good for 90 now, so imo should Aguero. Nasri seems to tail off and lil David still seems a bit below fitness. So the last two off. Milner to run about like a chicken and AJ to bring another dimension. If Yaya is pushed up then we are still flooding the midfield and Milner can leg it back if they manage to escape.
In reality subs are gonna depend on how the game goes, I'm expecting us to muller them again, But City have never mullered a team ever when I have been expecting it, so I believe it will be a tight game with the rags playing well and City frustratingly a bit flat. So we may have to keep a tactical tight ship right to the whistle, so subs are crucial, Tevez stays on the fuclin pitch for 90 and balotelli stays watching.
I like Your vision, particularly about the flanks. I too wondered about the Milner option which would ensure additional dynamicity when not in possession: then I turned it down, considering that Jimmy seems to run out of steam by recent; I'd certainly pick him if I was sure he'd be that kind of on form Milner who despatched that superb "pitch-stretching" assist in don't remember which game (my poor ol' neurons).
also on AJ I'd theoretically agree, but is a bit of a gamble in such a huge game: same as per Mario they are not finished articles who can impact the game too much unpredictably.
thus, without missing the point on Silva's form, I still consider the best way is to go for the most solid line-up, assuming Yaya pushed up from the start, as I don't trust him in the hold role nowadays, particularly combined with GazBaz.
I'd take AJ and Balo as set plan if the game is going to be tight as expected, swoping them for Dave and Sergio.
