Because old whisky nose has plenty of ammunition. In his presser today Slur Alex said in response to Patrick Vieira's comments about United being desperate in bringing The ginge out of retirement that we showed more desperation in allowing Tevez back in the team.He finished by saying he has plenty of ammunition for any mind games.

When the rags turn up at the Etihad, we should get loads of blokes who look like Patric Vieira, all with sunglasses on, & just have them keep walking past Ferguson, from different directions, & one or two occasionally smile at him when nobody is looking.

Same here.

But I think we should have a bit of false wall next to their dressing room with a broom cupboard behind it which looks exactly the same, & a doorman stood next to it, then push the wall accross when Ferguson is on his way so he walks into the broom cupboard & then when he goes off to complain, put it back where it was & the doorman can deny ever having seen him.

Noticed Taggarts comments and also those of Robson and just had to have a little chuckle to myself.

Seem to remember abut five years ago Taggart himself threw a bit of a wobbly and the Edwards caved in and gave him what he wanted. Then Rooney gets his parts on and would you believe it, Taggart gives him a whopping pay rise and an impressive hike in his image rights.

Now Pogba throws his toys out of the pram an threatens to leave as he isn't getting the first team experience and suddenly Taggart gives him levitated status into the first team squad and gives him a run out in about the last four games. This is despite several other players regaining fitness. Must ask him if his definition of desperate is diferent to that which he applies to everyone else..

Robson's comments made me laugh. Referring to the Tevez saga and Balotelli's night out saying that Bacon wouldn't allow it to happen. Quite right. Our players should behave impeccably and could use the likes of Giggs, Rooney and Cantona as role models.

We're bringing back the Golden Boot winner, who is actually contracted to play for the club, after he crawled on his belly back to Bobby and offered a public apology.

Taggart brought a geriatric out of retirement in a bid to save their season. Vieira remembers the days when Bacon would have just signed a £20M player rather than a retiree. Something's changed at the Swamp and he pointed it out.

It'd be like 3 or 4 years from now if Real Madrid desperately needed to bring Raul back. You'd wonder what the fuck happened to Real Madrid.

I knew that the fact that he was contracted by our team still would come up.
So you dont see bringing Tevez back into the fold as a deperate act? After Bobby said he'd never play for us
and fans torched his jerseys and people on here ripped him (and still do) alot of people are now
willing to "accept" him back into the fold for the greater good of the team and in order to win the prem. league.
Sorry, but thats desperate to me (given our decline in form and how we've needed something like Tevez to jump
start us). As desperate as brining Paul Scholes back.

And I dont view Scholes as a geriatric..he clearly still has some of his skill left. FFS, he wasnt even out
for a full season.

I dont see any difference in what city did and what united did nor between what Vieira said and what fergie said.
i dont understand people on here criticizing what was said by fergie today....aside from the fact that he's the united
manager and therefore he's the devil or w/e.

You total idiot...firstly "fans" didn't torch his jersey you cretin. That was clearly something set up by the Daily Mail who conveniently had their cameras to catch the effigy before, during and after.

Yes Bobby said he wouldn't play again and if we'd been able to do a deal at Xmas which suited City (not just Tevez) then I don't think he would have played again AND we would have had a new striker for the last two months. Lots of people were against the prospect of him playing again, but lots of people (as you can see from post-defeat threads/posts on here) are very reactionary and don't really think through the consequences of what they "want". I can understand why some people remain anti the idea of him playing but I am pragmatic and that is exactly the policy adopted by the club. United got their reserve team coach to come out of retirement...that is desperate.

There is a significant distinction which is driven by the fact that we had to bring him back once he had apologised for three very important reasons:

a) if we didn't do so, he would have had a pretty good case to take legal action against the club and finagle his way out of the club on the cheap
b) if he still wants to leave in the summer then the only way the club is remotely going to get market value for him and that he, as a footballer, will get a move to the level of club/contract he wants is by putting in high quality performances between now and the end of the season
c) I don't know if you noticed but we are trying to win a title here....we pay the guy and have essentially (from a striker perspective) been playing with one hand tied behind our back since he went awol

there is no realistic parallel between the two situations other than they both involve players who weren't involved and now are. If you can't see that you are a halfwit and accusing people of "blue bias" just further amplifies that.

Phips,
You are quite correct about the blue tinted glasses and the blue bias...this board is choc full of it. But as it's a City forum, full of pretty hardcore City fans who openly admit to loving City and hating the rags....wouldn't you sorta expect that?

Have you considered that it was Tevez's decision to return to City, whilst it was Taggart's decision to drag Scholes out of retirement.
And...despite \Tevez'z decision to return, he was only considered for selection AFTER he had complied with the conditions set by the club. Consideringwe had replaced him alreadt last summer with Aguero, none of this smells anything like desperation. \in fact if City could have offloaded him they would have been happy to do so.

Taggart is currently trying to get Scholes to sign for another season AFTER the player had made the decision that he no longer wanted to play for the rags.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Phips are you really a City fan ?

Ferguson is not correct, furthermore it is not mind games at all. It is the rantings of a wizzened, slurry, angry old man. Lear like in his stupidity, he thows out alcohol induced abuse akin to the ramblings of an old German guy i had to endure this week on the train down to Genf. Tourette induced random , shouting abuse referencing 'Arschlochs' . It isn't squeaky bum time Mr. F.... It is 'Touching cloth' time. Get your analogy right. Or should that be anal (f)ergie ? (The 'f' being silent)

The convenience of an alcohol induced haze and loss of memory !

In a further association with the great Bard, to quote:

"Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have it thrust upon them", i liken the latter stance to United, they don't know why they are great this season, in fact, nobody does!

Barcelona are great and City are achieving that status.

As for Brian Robson... Well there is nothing to say really, just ignore him, he'll go away.

And how is robson still a club ambassador after all that dodgy shit on panorama last year with the thais?

So 37 year old Paul Scholes, is as good as Premier League Golden Boot holder Carlos Tevez ?

What fucking planet is that on ?

Scholes is Pizarro. If he played for West Brom, he'd be eaten alive. He only gets space with the rags because teams stand off. If they play him v us, we will fuck him up, just like we did at Wembey, where he was their weakest link. He's not good enough. It's desperate & they've got away with it yet again (so far ).

Tevez is a world class player at his peak & not that far off full fitness. If he was at scum, he'd start every fucking game.

You don't view Scholes as a geriatric? He's 38 years old and half blind for fuck's sake. In footballing terms he's a dinosaur. Fergie had to beg him to come out of retirement when he realised that his current crop of midfielders weren't up to the job and that smacks of desperation. In years gone by he would simply have signed a midfielder in january but he knows that they don't have the resources to do so. As mentioned earlier the only reason Scholes is playing ok is that opposition teams aren't closing him down. Wait til we play them - we'll make him look like the over-the-hill has-been that he really is

With tevez we have a player who is in his peak years, who we are paying a shitload of money to and who we couldn't offload in jan despite our best attempts to. He has apologised for his behaviour and the club have realised that he is too much of an asset not to play and of course if he plays well from now on in it will help to restore his transfer value should he still want to leave in the summer. And his goals could help us win our first league title in 42 years

Completely different scenario to Scholes
