Pep - time to say goodbye?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Guardiola had three jobs to do after football restarted - secure 2nd position, win FA Cup and win Champions League. He could hardly have failed to come 2nd in the league. The other two we managed to beat Newcastle and Real Madrid but lost to a superior Arsenal team and a weak Lyon team when he over complicated the line up.
Where was the creativity meant to come from last night? When you go 3 centre halves then there is always doubt over who does what unless it is the only system that you use and the players know it very well. 3 at the back can be introduce in a pre-season without an international tournament but not in a week at the end of the season.
Simple questions, are our players better than theirs. Yes, play them off the park at our game. Instead we tried to play their game and we were dreadful. This is all on Guardiola. The BIG mistake was in not admitting he had made a mistake and waiting till Fernandinho was going to get sent off before changing the formation but he still left off 3 of the most creative players in Europe in Bernardo, Silva and Foden.
Still angry and at this point I'm prepared to say fuck off Pep, you've had your chance. Pochettino is available who I think may be a great choice. Improved Southampton beyond all recognition and Spurs were better under him till they got ideas above their station. If we don't get him them United will get him soon.

Maybe it’s happened already behind the scenes and Pep has told them If he is staying or going but to be getting into a position of one year left on contract and be saying we will see at the end if we extend isn’t good but I can’t think of any manager out there now who I would be excited about replacing him with.

All PeP does is throw money at the problem...its a fuckign cold fact - he wants to buy , allegedly , an aging defender for more stupid money.....its beyond a joke now.
He has the players to win the CL but he just isn't tactically good enough to pick the right fuckign ones to beat a 7th placed shitty French team!!!!

I wouldn't trust PeP to buy anyone - how can you trust a manager to get it right when hes already spunked half a billion quid on defenders alone.

Whether it's half a billion or not, it's a valid argument. If, after seeing the kid at Leipzig play, we still spunk 60 + on the Koub fella in Naples then he is setting himself up for a fall.
We get beat the same way every time it's blatantly obvious to a blind man but master tactician does fuck all about it other than invent bizarre solutions like playing his best DM at CB
He needs a solid CB pairing and pace at the back to cover when we turn the ball over allied with a quick position savvy DM and so far he has not settled these areas

Agree, like I said criticism is warranted. Not sure on the Koulibaly signing, he has pace at least I guess.

Not quite half a billion but according to transfermarket website it's in the region of £350 million. When you consider that he's playing a midfielder at centre back and nobody is sure of who plays left back ever then you have to wonder what the actual plan was.

Its a fact that PeP has spent over half a billion on defenders as a manager - with City hes spent over 324 million just on our defenders alone !

Didn't he set them up and kept two players that can break defences on the bench?
Is there any chance he might admit it is actually his fault?

I think a lot of the guys on here debating signings and whatnot are missing a very large point, it does not matter who we sign if the manager continues to chop/change and generally fuck up any team cohesion. I always thought it a fundamental that a consistent team will prevail over a team that is continually rotated.
This was proven by Clough at both Derby and Forest, he won everything with players most thought were journeymen, but they all new what each other’s strengths and weakness’s were.

Can anyone name our strongest 11? I cant, going into a CL quarter final at the end of the season the first 11 should be picking it self.
But its not were a million miles from stability and consistency.
That's very bad management.
Oh why oh why cant he learn.

Pick and play your strongest team, take the game to the opposition, what on earth is wrong with that policy.. the mind boggles.

Why is he a stubborn shit all season then the one game where we should take it to them we go all wanky and defensive, playing to our weaknesses.

He is responsible for the defeat last night.

I assume Pep will be staying longer than this season when his current deal expires. Youve gotta assume his likely extension will match the length of Messi's deal. If the rumors online are true that means Pep would stay this season plus 3 more.

Maybe Aguero will extended 1-2 seasons to stay with Messi too
