Doucoure always seemed to look tasty for Watford. Good player who will improve Everton. Rodriguez is a car crash who arguably has done the best part of fuck all for three or four years.

Both Laporte and Ake are left -sided CBs which only leaves a potential right footed signing. If he doesn't back his own ability, then that's on him.

Maybe. But its also being realistic. If the club goes out and buys a 60m+ CB to partner Laporte why should he think he has a fair chance to beat out that signing? If City believed in him they wouldnt be spending that much money on a new CB. Actions speak louder than words.

For me he looked like a box to box player, but actually I think his role on paper is as a attacking mid. He was quality when they reached the final, their second best midfielder now after Fernandes. But last year he didn't look the same, he seemed annoyed de Light or how the hell he was called and de Jong left and he stayed.

But it is a good transfer imho.
